“Super hotel in Midtown Manhattan”

Hotel reception and service upon arrival was friendly and helpful. We immediately made use of the bar for refreshment and that too was friendly with an excellent selection of beers from around the world. Room was clean and comfortable if not overly spacious. Safe would not work upon arrival, but a quick call to reception had it fixed within minutes on a Saturday evening....great service we thought! Restaurant served beautiful food in a relaxed atmosphere. Location on Madison Avenue was very cental with the Empire State minutes away and many good restaurants and delicatessens nearby. Locality was fine and we felt you could walk around there alone at any time of day or night.

“Very good value in NYC”

My room was available several hours early, when I arrived in the city. Check in was very fast. The room was small, as I had expected, because I booked the least expensive room with just a double bed (I was alone), but it was very attractive, had ample hanging space and a full sized desk and large flat screen tv and minibar, and the bathroom was huge, about 1/3rd the size of the room itself. Service was fast and cordial. There were no bad surprises. The hotel was busy. The lobby is lovely. The neighborhood is excellent and convenient to mass transit.

“Good location, walking distance to everything and some peace at night”

The hotel is located on Madison ave. It is around the corner from Empire state building and Macy's department store. The location is in a quiet area-something that is welcomed in New York if you want to have a peaceful sleep as I imagine the areas around times square are prett noisy! The hotel had Molton Brown toiletries which was a nice treat and althought room was not massive it was not cramped or anything either so it was just rioght and the bed was really comfortable. I think the hotel had recently been refurbished as it seems new and well maintained.

Loved it - was there for a wedding and used the hotel as it was convenient and came with a package that included transport. All fell into place well and would recommend you to others. The plus was the weather which is always a plus.

“My New First Choice in New York”

I was so impressed with the Carlton. My single room was small but impeccable. The water pressure was a bit weak in the shower and the thermostat needed frequent adjustment. Pay per view offers movies still in theaters. The front desk staff were friendly and attentive and the concierge was charming and very well informed, (I am former NY resident). Definitely do take advantage of the hotel restaurant, Country (terrible name), it is truly 'fine dining'. I noted that the in-room dining prices were the same for food served in the dining room, not inflated. The restaurant has an elegant dining room and a more informal, but lovely romantic bistro with two bars. Only gripe here - I was seated at the "woman-dining-alone' table, ie, in the hinterland, even though it was not prime time and there were plenty of open tables.

“Extremely Impressed”

As stated, we were extremely impressed with the Carlton on Madison Ave. For our business we have traveled to New York City many times on extended stays and have not found a hotel we absolutely had to or wanted to go back to till now. This hotel is highly recommended by us. Every employee we experienced were nice, charming, helpful and very professional. In addition to the pleasantries and Classic New York charm, the space and interior design was appealing and top of the line. For New York City the rooms were of normal size, and you could maneuver easily with more than the normal amenities. We also ha a colleague who opted for suite and those were very nice as well, but one would be happy in a traditional room. The food at both restaurants is very delicious and we also recommend trying the champagne bar with so many options to choose from. The Carlton on Madison Avenue is definitely a treasure in New York City and we would be very surprised if anyone had a bad experience there.

“Very chic hotel and sophisticated...”

The hotel is gorgeous and very central. The lounge and amenities are wonderful. We loved having 24 hour wireless internet. The classic room is a little small...will definitely return but to a larger room.

We recently stayed at the Carlton because it was convenient to visit our daughter at FIT. The hotel was very quiet and clean. We upgraded to a larger room than we had originally booked. The queen room was a little too small for us. There are several nice restaurants in the area and the gym is very close by too.

“Nice hotel for moderate price”

Over all the hotel seems pretty nice, the items in the room is pretty updated and the TV was decent. One odd problem was 2 of the channels had no audio and we had to call to get soap, shampoo, and etc. Overall it was a nice hotel, just little things here and there that needed some attention.
