Quiet Oasis in the Center of NYCPosted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: The welcome was fabulous. They made us feel wanted, and immediately worked to make us comfortable in both the room and the lounge. Location perfect
Cons: If I were there for an extended stay, I'd want more room. For one night, with good weather, it was great.
Location: The location is immediately off Times Square (one half block). Fifth Avenue shops are only 3 blocks away, and Broadway is right around the corner.
Arriving at the hotel by car was difficult and painful, due to Sunday afternoon gridlock in the Times Square area, but the parking garage was adjacent to the hotel, as described on the hotel website, and once we were out of the traffic, our frustrations melted away. The hotel receptionist greeted us warmly, the reservation was completely in order. We and our guests were invited to the hotel lounge for complimentary drinks and snacks, the doorman handled the bags for us. Perfect. The room was small (like most of NYC hotels) but was perfectly appointed, and very clean. The only window opened onto a central court, so there was NO traffic noise from outside. We didn't hear a siren or a taxi horn the entire time. Slept perfectly. The hotel is located less than a block from Times Square, and offered us the luxury of proximity to everything (Broadway, Times Square, Restaurants, 5th Avenue) with the accompanying luxury of a quiet, welcoming place to rest. I came here a bit under protest, saying "I hate New York". I feel differently now, 180 degrees. I'm coming back, and when I come back, I'll stay at the Casablanca.

Not the biggest but...Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Customer service, location, complimentary drinks and snacks and free wifi
Cons: Whilst Gym membership is offered nearby, I personally would like an in house Gym
Location: Perfect location in Times Square for access to all of New York attractions.
Not the biggest hotel with the largest rooms or greatest facilities such as an in house gym for example but the location and level of customer service more than makes up for any minor shortfalls. Trip advisor has this hotel as the number one hotel in New York and when you consider the competition that is some feat. The staff make the difference as they really cannot do enough for you at every hour of the day, whether it is advice on sightseeing and restaurants, organising tickets, offering all day refreshments and nightly cheese and wine or simply welcoming you in and out of the hotel. It is old fashioned great service and people clearly love it. The location is also astonishing in that it is a 50 yard walk to the noise generator that is Times Square and yet it is completely silent in the hotel! Most attractions are easy walking distance with a subway station opposite for those longer trips downtown. Great hotel for couples on honeymoon or anniversary. Enjoy!

DisappointedPosted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: The air conditioning worked very well. We were given numerous bottles of water, a huge benefit on an extremely warm day.
Cons: There were numerous references to how one would dial the phone for Sri Lanka and Vatican City, but no references to Canada, a country 400 miles away.
Location: The hotel is located near Times Square
In connection with three senior citizens attendance at a ballgame at Yankee Stadium, each of the three of us concluded that the Casablanca Hotel did not live up to its reputation. Shortly after I checked in, the General Manager told me that I had been double-charged for the room (about $400.) And he put the onus for correcting the mistake on me. He refused to communicate with the credit card company. There were a number of problems with the room. First, the picture on the TV screen was impossibly scrambled. Second, the floor of the room squeaked persistently. Third, we each had the impression that the rooms were ready for occupancy at 2 PM, but we were not allowed into the rooms until 3 PM, just to show that they were in charge. When I returned to the room after the ballgame (11PM), it was impossible to open the room door with either card key. I was blamed for possibly rubbing a credit card against the room card. The employee did something that he promised would cure the issue, but I needed help to get into the room. The following morning, the condition persisted.

Superb hotelPosted Aug 23, 2014
Pros: Every member of staff were very friendly and helpful The complimentary breakfast in a Ricks Cafe were an absolute delight
Cons: My only moan and it is a very small one is that the room was very noisy. There is no option to totally close the window due to the Air-con system.
Location: Fantastic location just off Times Square ideally placed for Broadway And walking distance to a Central Park, Top of the Rock, Grand Central Station
Just returned from a 5 night stay at Casablanca Hotel. From beginning to end this was a marvellous experience. The hotel is an oasis in the crazy world that is Times Square . The staff are what makes this hotel something special. Nothing is too much trouble for them, always with a smile. When we return to New York we will look no further for the right hotel

The Casablanca enhanced the NYC experiencePosted Jul 26, 2014
Pros: Everything! It was awesome.
Cons: The aircon unit in our room was quite loud so we turned it off at night but then got quite hot!
Location: Times Square, Broadway - most of Manhattan!
The Casablanca is very well located - right off Times Square, close to subways and within walking distance of most of Manhattan. The breakfast and evening drinks that are part of the room fee were a lovely surprise and made the hotel a very cost effective option. The room was quite small - but quiet enough (given the location) and the staff go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable. Because of the common 'Library' space where you can get refreshments 24 hours, as well as the fact that there's so much to do out and about in NYC you won't spend much time in your room anyway. Casablanca is a wonderful boutique hotel experience.
