Can't Beat It

Posted Oct 28, 2013
Pros: Everything - rooms super clean and super comfy, extensive free breakfast, friendly and attentive staff, great location.
Cons: Nothing I could see
Location: Great location In Chelsea, just north of Greenwich Village. Nice tree lined streets. Restaurants, boutiques, CVS, subway all on the doorstep.
From the minute we arrived to our departure the staff at Chelsea Pines Inn couldn't have been more attentive or friendly. Everything is super clean and meticulously maintained and the free breakfast is second to none.. The location is great - an oasis of calm; only a few minutes on the subway from the frenetic activity uptown. It's a nice area to wander around in the evening with an extensive range of restaurants at prices to suit everyone. We went to Spice Market for a meal to celebrate our anniversary and it was wonderful. I've never been anywhere like it before. The subway is literally two minutes from the hotel and the Highline Park and riverside "promenade" only five minutes away. The hotel fits the bill perfectly.

Great hotel, staff and location

Posted Jul 31, 2013
Pros: The hotel has a friendly feel, with clean rooms, funky decor and a great breakfast in the morning.
Location: The highline is down the road 200m. The bike tracks along the river are close, with bike hire under the Highline. The bars and restaurant are awesome
We spent 10 days staying at Chelsea Pines, exploring NYC. The staff were great, Troy, Anna, Jay and the boys, thank you! The hotel is located in a great part of town close to bars, restaurants, the Highline and the village.

Best place to stay in New York.

Posted Apr 30, 2013
Pros: Cleanliness, friendly, comfort.
Cons: Having to leave...
Location: Best of both worlds, Quieter area of New York, subways at top of street if you want to hit the bright lights.
The cleanest, friendliest, most comfortable city hotel I have stayed in. Professional, attentive and helpful staff, great attention to detail, felt like a home from home. Free wifi throughout hotel which was invaluable for planning trips and directions. There is also a room with 3 computers with in it with Internet access and printers, telephones (with free local calls which was excellent for confirming reservations) note pads and pens. Our room was spacious with a writing desk, ample storage space to hang clothes and drawers to store clothes, a small fridge, complimentary toiletries which were replaced when used. Very helpful with recommendations of what to see and do locally and places to eat, not to mention the daily news letter which was delivered, listing the weather, restaurants of the day and daily fresh bread flavour! Superb hotel, would recommend to everyone who was planning a stay in New York.

Different to the usual New York experience.

Posted Apr 2, 2013
Pros: The staff were so friendly and eager to please. It felt as though they really did want to know what your day been like. Breakfast was superb.
Cons: For a tall person like myself the facilities were a bit constricting.
Location: Ideally situated between Chelsea and Greenwich Village. Only 150 metres from the 14th Street A train subway so great for JFK. 3 blocks to Highline
We felt at home from the very first minute. The effort that all of the staff put into making us feel welcome and attending to our needs was well over and beyond. Breakfast was so much more than what is normally expected in the US.

A real little home from home in a great location

Posted Jan 22, 2013
I didn't quite know what to expect with this hotel but was oh so pleasantly surprised. It is an old hotel and the rooms are small (typical for New York though) but the staff are quite amazing, every single one of them. Absoutely nothing was too much trouble for them. During this trip to America I had three seperate stays at this hotel and each time I was treated like a member of the family returning home. I wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else in New York. Added to all the above the location is brilliant and they hae a wonderful elderly cat called Charlies in residence. Overall a really wonderful experience.

A gem in ChelseaLoc

Posted Jan 22, 2013
Pros: The location is excellent. The staff is great. The breakfast is good and varied.
Cons: No bench in the lobby.
Location: It's Chelsea on the west of NYC; it is close to subways, Soho, Tribeca etc.
This a gem on 14th St in Chelsea. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. Our room was at the back of the hotel and it was very quiet. Charlie, the feline concierge wanders the halls and he is very friendly. Overall, I had a good stay and I would stay here again.

The Perfect Place in NYC

Posted Dec 19, 2012
Pros: The staff & the greenhouse sitting area. We stayed in December so didn't sit in the garden.
Cons: We found it a bit noisy at times due to the location of our room on the main floor.
Location: A great neighbourhood!! The subway is right outside the door. Chelsea Market is definitely worth visiting!! Lots to see & do!
Everyone we met while staying were so friendly & helpful!! We loved it here & will stay here again in the future!!!

Great Hotel!

Posted Dec 7, 2012
Pros: great service, good breakfast
Location: very safe, charming neighbourhood -
Our recent 5 day stay in NY was made so much more pleasant by staying at Chelsea Pines Inn, which is in a great, easily accessible area. The hotel was clean and the rooms very charmingly decorated in a Hollywood theme. We were able to walk to Times Square, and for those not inclined to walk, the Metro station is in the same block as the hotel. The owner and staff were all amazing - friendly, helpful and very personable. The rate includes a very good breakfast with healthy options and great coffee! We have stayed in many hotels over the years, and have never received such amazing personable service. We highly recommend the Chelsea Pines Inn to anyone travelling to NY.
