Great location

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: It was very close to everything we wanted to do and to Grand Central Station. Room had plenty of outlets for charging phones, computers, ipad and came
Cons: Could not get extra pillows or ironing board like we needed. We asked too late...they were all gone in the evening.
Location: Very close to the train station and many of the attractions we came to see
It was very close to everything we wanted to do and to Grand Central Station. Room had plenty of outlets for charging phones, computers, ipad and camera!!! Coffee in room was nice. Club room was very nice for getting coffee (latte was delicious) and for waiting to go to train station. It was nice to have access to free bottled water!! We needed it. Could not get extra pillows or ironing board like we needed. We asked too late...they were all gone in the evening.

Excellent location. Friendly service. Fair value

Pros: Ideal location for pleasure and business. Quite rooms
Cons: Nothing really. I think the rooms were too small, but considering where you are, I guess we can live with it.
We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. Booked a triple room and they gave us one with a double bed fold-able bed which was slightly uncomfortable for our teenage son, but it’s OK. After all, who’s wants to sleep when in New York City for a couple of days? Staff was friendly and helpful. The day we checked out we had no problem keeping our luggage at the hotel past our check out time. The lobby is nice and has an old charm to it. There is free coffee and soda and two computers if you want to check your mail; revisit plans or print a confirmation. There is Wi-Fi… fast and free for all. There is a restaurant inside the hotel where you can have breakfast but was not included in our room rate. That worked better because there must be 4 or 5 cafes steps from the hotel where you can have a nice breakfast. One of them wasacross the hotel. Manhattan Café I think. It offered endless variety for breakfast and lunch and cheap too. Location was ideal… minutes from the phenomenal Times Square with all the lights and noise, yet in a quiet, charming typical NYC street. The hotel is minutes from Grand Central station and several subway and bus stops. Taxis are not very expensive in NYC. Actually they are a cheaper option for groups of 3 or 4 on short trips. But are hard to find.

Very nice, very conveniently located. We had a pretty large room on the 11th floor, and were very comfortable. Really appreciate the free wifi, coffee and water!

Good value

Pros: Location was great. Price was good. The facilities were clean and updated. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: The room was 'cozy', though common in N.Y.. The bathroom lacked a bit of privacy because they use a sliding door to save space.
Location: A couple of blocks from Times Square and Rockefeller Centre. Easy subway access. Close by bus drop off/pick up to and from Newark airport.
We had a positive experience. The staff were very friendly. Checking in and out was easy and seamless.

Tiny rooms and in need of modernising

Posted Jul 31, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Rooms need to e cleaned properly and the corridors are 1940s - in need of modernising,.
Location: Times Sq, Central Park, 5th Ave, etc and all popular sights are easily accessible.
The photos are misleading and the rooms are tiny. There's hardly any storage space and the room wasn't even cleaned properly. Thankfully we were only there for 2 nights and they hadn't taken away dirty towels which were left on the floor and also didn't bother to vaccum. We had our 11 year old share the room with us and they left a folding bed in our room, and didn't even bother to unfold it or make it up. For the price they are charging (almost £200 per night, that is the least they could do! Would I stay there again? The answer is No. The location is ideal and very central, but after a long day sighseeing and walking around, you want to come back to a clean room which has been properly made up.

Great location and the rooms are very well thought out, great price to boot. Love the lounge on the main floor with the endless coffee / cappuccino / tea. Love the sealed bottles/filtered water stations, saves you $10. a day in water when you are out walking around. Staff are exceptional as well.
