A very noisy stay in NYCPosted Dec 17, 2014
We arrived very early and they secured our bags so we could explore New York before we checked in without the hassle of luggage. When we checked in at 3pm the staff were pleasant but were more interested/concerned with checking in and looking after the flight crew who arrived just as we did. I had booked for three people and the room only had one bed when the discription clearly described a queen bed and sofa bed. They remedied this with a roll out bed which was uncomfortable and too short for my 14 year old. The queen bed was acceptable. We were on the forth floor and when it came to trying to sleep the noise from the nightclub and street below was excessive. The windows aren't double-glazed and this is definitely an upgrade urgently needed. We have stayed in lesser starred hotels in NYC without any problems with noise before. We took advantage of the restaurant for breakfast which was buffet style, tasty and quite good value for money. Overall the experience was ok, just not as good as the price demanded.

Pros: centrally located.
The room was very dirty and old appearing. The staff could not help me when I wanted to order a pizza-he could provide me with no information on where to get one b/c he was not familiar with the area.

Best price for locationPosted Dec 15, 2014
I came with a teenaged daughter to enjoy the New York "Christmas Experience". This location was perfect for that. We were just seconds away from the Rockettes show at Radio City and minutes away from Rockefeller Center in all of its splendour (plus 5th Avenue shops and window displays, etc). The city itself is crowded and it was often impossible to get around freely. Although everything we wanted to see was within walking distance, on the one occasion when we did want to take a taxi back to the hotel, we couldn't find one that would go below 54th. Be sure to book a car through the hotel to go back to airport or you could be stranded (this time of year). Overall we recommend the hotel and would return.

Worst NY Experience to DatePosted Dec 14, 2014
Pros: Free Wi-Fi, and the front desk staff was professional.
Cons: Cordless phone did not work. TV picture was too big for the screen--pic got cut off all the way around. Towels for two when you know there are two!
Hotel experience was awful. Our room was adjacent to the back service hallway of hotel restaurant which had been entirely reserved all evening for a private party, complete with a DJ, and the LOUDEST music I have ever heard. Couldn't even watch TV. Called the restaurant and down to the desk repeatedly and couldn't get an answer on the phone. Restaurant usually closes at 10pm, so I put up with it until then. Finally got ahold of someone at 10:10, who apologized and said she would "call up there right away". No change. I went and talked to the hostess who told me the party would be going on until 11pm. It just kept getting louder. Called the desk again. Another "that's unacceptable, and I'll call up there right away", but nothing changed. Finally, party over. Then the staff started slamming and dragging tables and chairs from the restaurant down the (tiled, not carpeted) hallway outside my door. And yelling to one another at the top of their lungs. I finally opened the door at 11:30 and yelled at them to hold it down. Noise continued until after midnight. The service in the restaurant was very slow, and no check-back for refills on coffee or water. They were not busy in the restaurant , but they were standing at the bar chatting instead of paying attention. 30 stories and two small elevators. Ice machine on only one of the floors and had to wait FOREVER for the elevator. Housekeeping left one washcloth and handtowel each day for two people. Never again.

Great location!Posted Dec 8, 2014
Pros: Location, suite was nice and clean. Furnished water bottles on each floor.
Cons: Choice of room location. Reservations made in May for Dec.. Checked in at 10:30 am. she acted like she didn't know where rooms were located.
Location: Across the street from Rockefeller Center. Great pizza/deli next door.
In spite of rain we had a great time. Great location for Rockettes, American Girl Store, Rockefeller Christmas tree. The pizza/deli next door is really good. Reasonable prices.

NoisyPosted Dec 7, 2014
Pros: Great Location, immediate attention by staff when a problem came up.
Cons: The crowd of drunks right outside the door and below the second floor windows, maybe moving them off to the side when they are outside smoking.
Location: Great location if going to the Thanksgiving Macy's Parade. Lighting of the Rockefeller Christmas tree, NBC shows and Radio City.
We arrived and were given a room on the seventh floor, it was not the floor plan we reserved and were immediately moved to correct floor plan. We were moved to second floor. This turned out to be the worst mistake. We liked everything with the hotel, except that our room was above a bar entrance. After midnight the crowd would gather outside the front door, to smoke, and well, needless to say, a crowd of 20 drunks smoking below your window is very loud. We brought this up to the hotel staff and were told they could not do anything about it. We would stay here again, but not on the second floor. We have stayed in New York many times, and the city noise does not bother us, but this was drunk bar patrons being loud from midnight to around 3 am. Our last night, we checked out around midnight and decided to cut our stay short. Like I said, everything else was taken care off immediately and our stay was pleasant, we would stay again, just not on the second floor. Robert

Excellent location, friendly staffPosted Dec 4, 2014
The hotel location is ideal being just off 5th avenue right by the Rockefeller center and Radio city. Times Square is also within walking distance. The staff were a pleasure, very friendly and helpful. The club room we stayed in was small but clean - an ideal base but not somewhere you'd spend large amounts of time (which is unlikely to be the case anyway in NYC). The only slight negative I would say is the elevators. There are two in the hotel but they were always busy (lines in the lobby were a frequent occurrence) and very slow. To be fair though we were visiting over the week of Thanksgiving and the hotel was busy so it was to be expected. A side note - if you're planning on visiting over Thanksgiving, this hotel is in an ideal location to watch the parade as it passes down 6th avenue. Would definitely return.

Good location, not very nice.Posted Dec 3, 2014
Pros: Location only.
Cons: The staff should have cleaned the blood off the wall at the very least.
Location: Great location; close to Radio City, St Patrick's Cathedral and the tree.
The staff was not very welcoming. The room was clean with the exception of the bathroom. Someone had spackled the wall, had not painted, and left blood on the wall. There were no tissues in the room. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. When I booked the room, I was told we were on the 23rd floor with a view of the tree. When we arrived, we were given a room on the 17th floor with no view at all.
