Great location and staff, but...Posted Mar 10, 2014
I checked into the Comfort Inn Central Park West on 3/8/14. I felt unwell so I lay down on the bed. I awoke a couple of hours later with a live bedbug in the bedding with me. I delivered the insect to the front desk and was immediately given a new room. The desk clerk was sympathetic and did apologize. The next night, I found three swollen bug bites on my upper arm. I don't know if these were delayed reaction from the original room's bugs or bites acquired in the new room. When I was looking for additional bedbugs, it became apparent that careful vacuuming is not a priority of the housekeeping staff -- there was a wide assortment of food under the bed and between the bed and nightstand. Room radiators give off entirely too much heat for comfort, but there is an air conditioner to help cool the room to a tolerable temperature.

Centrally located hotel, great locationPosted Mar 9, 2014
Pros: The staff were very friendly & accomodating. The location cannot be beaten for its central position, location to subways & slice of local life
Cons: Rooms Vsmall, website is very disceptive. So, a few minor changes of furniture placement, moving safe/bed position would increase floor space alot
Location: Near subways, Central Park, great restraunts, Trader Joe's & Joe's Coffee btween 83 & 84th street! Also within 10 st of NYC pblic library with intnet
The location of this hotel would be hard to beat if you want something a little removed from teh craziness of Times Square / Midtown. You really can "live like a local" more on the Up[per Westside & soon get into the groove of daily life.

Tiny, Miniature, Microscopic!Posted Mar 7, 2014
Cons: everything, including space to eat breakfast!
Location: great location!
First of all, the pictures on the website resemble nothing like the room (queen) I was in. The room was dark ,dingy, and outdated. There is no way ( by law) that one person should be allowed in that amount of space, unless you're in prison. You owe it to yourself to spend a few more dollars and sleep and feel well. Should cost sixty dollars, tops!

Good location, nice staff, but disappointingPosted Mar 6, 2014
Pros: Great location and staff.
Cons: The hotel is in desperate need of new towels.
The location is excellent, steps from Central Park, walking distance to Lincoln Center, and lots of great restaurants. The beds are good and the linen is nice but the towels are terrible (to the extent I didn't want to use them). The staff is excellent. Our initial room was totally depressing but we were able to upgrade to something much nice. All in all, I would not stay here again. There are better hotels at comparable prices.

Great NY location for museums and galleriesPosted Feb 20, 2014
Pros: Location, wi fii and staff
Cons: Decor was too run-down to be really clean. Small single elevator for 14 floors was a nightmare. In room heating had no controls except open window
Location: Walk down the road to the Natural History museum. Go across Central Park to the Met and Guggenheim. Walk away from the park to Lincoln Centre.
The price and location of this hotel are ideal. Nice area if you want to walk, close to subway if you prefer transit. The staff were wonderful - helpful and pleasant. The hotel itself is very run-down - looks as if it was ready for renovation about 10 years ago but great wi fi, loads of hot water, hot and cold breakfast included (provided you got down before it was all gone). If you are looking for value for money and a good location, hard to beat this hotel.

Cheap Hotel close to Lincoln CenterPosted Feb 19, 2014
Pros: The complimentary breakfast had more to offer than I expected.
Cons: A friendly smiling face of the Customer Service Rep would be appreciated. I was not made to feel welcome upon checking in.
Location: Close to Central Park and Lincoln Center.
I expected a small room but this was a tiny room with not even enough room for a chair. There was only enough room for a bed, dresser and nightstand. Also, for a hotel named the Comfort Inn, there was little comfort due to the cold temperature of the room. Upon checking in, I found the bathroom window had been left wide open and it was the middle of February. Even after closing it, however, the temperature of the room was still cold. There were big water stains on the ceiling and it appears that they hired a monkey to paint since there was very little attention to detail. Outlet covers were not removed for the painting and parts of the covers were painted over - a very sloppy job was noticed in several places within the room and bathroom. The floor of the tub also had noticeable and unappealing stains. The soapdish in the shower had not been cleaned at all as there was soap residue left over from the last guest and it was placed on the wall in such a way that I banged my head on it when rinsing shampoo out of my hair. VERY DISAPPOINTING STAY!

Great locationPosted Feb 16, 2014
Pros: Location and breakfast was convenient and tasty.
Cons: Room was small but, had everything needed.
Location: I was close to Lincoln Center where I was working for Fashion Week. If the weather was better I could have walked almost everywhere I had to be.
The room was nice, the staff was very helpful with getting me around the city. Even though the weather was bad, my stay was good because the location was close to where I had to work during my stay.

The rooms are dirty and run down. I had to leave after my first night (I have a reservation for ten nights). DO NOT STAY HERE.
