Modest but comfortable lodgings

Posted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: I liked the location. You walked out the front door to a vibrant street life.
Cons: The complimentary hot breakfast started at 7:00AM and included bacon/ham/sausage & eggs. Between 7 & 8, they were cold and almost inedible.
Bigger room than a hotel that I stayed at close to Times Square. In Chinatown close to the Lower Eastside and the Bowery. Within walking distance of South Manhatten and the Villages. I also walked to Times Square and Central Park, but that was a stretch. Subways and buses are close by.

Love this hotel!

Cons: Get a gym.
Location: Subway within 2 blocks, great food, Manhattan Bridge, parks, the whole 9.
Such a central and good location for travelling. If you can get a good rate here, and you want a great jump off location for NYC (and you don't mind staying in Chinatown), this place is great!

Pros: Close to the Little Italy and restaurants. Convenient location if you like to discover New York by walking. Safe area.
Cons: Lower the bed !!!!
Location: Little China and Little Italy.
Staff was nice. First time staying in this area. A lot less noisy than staying in the Time Square area.

The room was small. Breakfast was adequate. Location is right in Chinatown. So you have to be prepared for a bit of grittiness in the area.

Comfortable Hotel Doing it Right

Posted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: Staff are very good and the rooms are clean and very comfortable.
This little hotel is not in the most prestigious location, being located on a busy, crowded street in Chinatown, but the staff and facilities are fine. The rooms (especially the one queen bed rooms) are very small, but clean and well appointed. Breakfast is pretty typical budget hotel buffet but does include a couple of hot items, make your own waffles, and some fresh fruit. We found the location actually perfect for us because we could walk to Greenwich Village, little Italy, Soho, etc. There is a subway stop only 2 or 3 blocks from the hotel so it's very easy to get around and we felt safe even at night. We would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a reasonably priced accommodation and who are comfortable staying outside of the downtown core.

Good alternative to pricier hotels

Posted May 28, 2014
Pros: Location, free breakfast, free Wi-Fi, in-room safe
Cons: More storage space in room and bathroom, renew the carpet, have beds that are a bit lower
Location: Restaurants, parks, lower East side, close to Wall Street, City Hall and World Trace Center
Great location in Chinatown facing a park. Lots of cheap restaurants around. Conveniently located to subway station on Grand St. Good choice at breakfast, just very busy. On two days I was not able to find a seat anywhere and went back to my room - as did many other guests. Traffic from the Manhattan bridge is audible all the time, even when windows are closed. Queen bed was a bit high for me. Despite being 5'6", I literally had to climb into it. Very comfortable and clean, though. Carpet is past its prime, but okay. I walked around in socks the whole time and did not have the feeling that it was dirty. Probably not enough storage space for 2 persons in the closet, and not enough space in the bathroom to put things. But bathroom was very clean and recently redone. Overall, I am glad that I chose this hotel and would definitely go back.
