My 60th bdayPosted Nov 21, 2013
Pros: LOCATION< LOCATION LOCATION
Cons: better breakfast, nicer towels, refrigerator in the room, control of temperature in room
Location: walk to Broadway, central park, Village, Macy's
The hotel is old, so we didn't have control over the temperature in the room...I would have liked a refrigerator in the room. The breakfast was just ok. The bagels (which we were looked forward to) seemed on the stale side. The eggs kind of rubbery. I would have also like English muffins. Sometimes we didn't get new cups in the room. I think that the towels were kind of cheap.

Nice hotel! In the heart of Manhattan!Posted Nov 13, 2013
Pros: I like that there was a complimentary continental breakfast!
Cons: More interaction with hotel guest.
Location: Although it was kind of hard to find at first. It's a good place to stay! Near Time Square, Macy's, Empire State Building, & subway station 2min away
They were nice to give us an early check-in. Originally we needed to check-in at 300 pm. We arrived at the hotel about 100 pm luckily there was a room available that they put us in. They also would hold your baggage while you walk around and wait for your checking at 300 pm if there's no available rooms to check you in early. The staff was helpful when you asked for help. I think they just needed to interact more with the guest and take the initiative to approach the guest to ask if they needed help. Overall our stay in the Comfort Inn was pleasant!

location fabPosted Nov 1, 2013
Cons: windows and breakfast
Location: empire state building literally round the corner, easy to walk to times square, macys and central station.
The location of The Comfort Inn is great; so close to everything. Staff great; so helpful with internet, calling our return transfer agency and bus times / location of subways etc. Breakfast needs a revamp; change of cooked items would be nice and toasters that worked so reduce queuing times. Down side was the noise even on 9th floor; sounded like a building site outside most nights so double glazing would so help.

Excellent LocationPosted Oct 23, 2013
Pros: The hotel had a high turnover of tourists, coming and going but staff were always friendly and relaxed.
Location: The hotel is just around the corner from the Empire State Building,Macy's and a short walk from Penn Station and subways.
We received a very friendly welcome. Reception was quite small but with comfortable seating, vases of orchids and 24hr complimentary tea and coffee available from machine in the corner. There was also free internet access in the Reception area. Continental breakfast was included and turned out to be much more than we had expected - fruit juice, cereals, eggs, ham, toast, bagels, waffles, muffins, doughnuts, fresh fruit. Our room was very clean and comfortable with plenty of cupboard and hanging space for our clothes and room for our suitcases. We were on the fifth floor and although there was not a lot of natural light there were more than enough room lights to supplement this. The bed was very comfortable with a choice of firm and soft pillows. A bonus was that we could see the Empire State Building from our window if we looked at an angle. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Comfortable Hotel in the Middle of EverythingPosted Oct 18, 2013
Pros: The interior gives a breath of older days yet everything is high-polished and spotless. It is absolutely charming!
Location: The location is perfect! It is in a middle of everything. It is in walking distance to shopping center as well as to the theaters and museums.
Hotel is located just a block from Macy's. In walking distance to Times Square and all the theaters. I walked to Central Park daily. However if you do not enjoy walking, there is a subway station right next to the hotel. Hotel rooms are spacious, clean and polished. They have working heater/AC, safe, TV and free WiFi. The rooms have high ceiling with moldings, big mirrors and pictures and it gives the atmosphere of rich older days. The only drawback is a relatively small bathroom and because we were on the 12th floor the water pressure was very weak. There are elevators, but if you chose stairs, there are 2 staircases and both are made from white marble. Ice machines are almost on every floor. You have 24hr access to complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby. Breakfast is served in a charming bar/restaurant adjacent to the hotel lobby. You have many picks from delicious sweet treats and fruits to ham and eggs and the only limit is your stomach size. By the way, the coffee is amazing.

Fantastic location, excellent staff - RecommendedPosted Sep 12, 2013
Pros: Location and staff
Cons: Air con a bit noisy, but not a problem
Location: Did all the touristy things - but also the Tenement museum tours - sound dull, but really interesting.
The hotel is fairly basic, but that is reflected in the price and had everything we needed. The rooms were big enough and clean, the breakfast was fine and being included in the price is a bonus. What made this hotel great was the location - right in the heart of midtown, so close to 35th Street subway meant you could get anywhere easily and cheaply or you could walk - so much was only minutes away. The other plus point was the staff - very friendly and helpful. Our special thanks go to Matt who arranged the taxi back to JFK - for the price of a yellow cab we got a stretch Limo - what a great way to finish a great holiday - Many thanks.

Pros: Well situated
Location: Lots - one block from Empire State Building
Hotel well situated. Room too small for two double beds. Too expensive for amenities and comfort.

centrally located, comfortablePosted Jul 30, 2013
Pros: staff, free breakfast, location, cleanliness and free wi-fi
Cons: more elevators, which I know is not feasible, but the elevators were a little small. we were on the second floor so took the stairs most of the time
Location: walking distance to 5th avenue shopping, Herald Square, Time's Square. Also just a hop, skip and a jump from a subway station to take us wherever
I was very pleased with the hotel. the location was wonderful, just a couple of blocks from Herald Square and the Empire State building as well as a subway station. We were in walking distance to Time's Square also. The free breakfast was amazing. It had everything you could want and that saves so much money when traveling. Also, the free wi-fi saves a significant amout of money too and we had no difficulty logging in and only had to log in once. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job and were very friendly. We came back each day to a nice clean room with fresh clean towels. The frant desk staff answered every question patiently and clearly and even provided me with a toothbrush since I had forgotten mine. Check-in and check-out could not have gone smoother. It was no problem hailing a taxi to go back to the airport either. If and when I go back to NYC, I plan on staying there again.
