“Comfort!”

Hotel room was good,clean and roomy. Very comfortable. Staff seemed to have their hand out all the time. No latte at the bar when no waitresses around - just coffee $4 that tasted awful. Choc bar in shop $2.50. Shame these things ruined our memories of this beautiful hotel.

Area recommendations

Times Square is a great start. Metro easy to use and get around. Tourist bus too.

“Great room...suggest you go during "PEAK" sesaon.”

New York is awesome, and the Crowne Plaza is truly right in the middle of all the action!! The only problem we faced was HEAT in the room!! Believe it or not. They run either air conditioner OR heat. Not both. It got very warm the 1st night, and we got no sleep. The rest of the visit was fine. We got a fan in the room the next day. Everyone was especially kind in the hotel. And we REALLY do plan to go back. But will diff go when it's cool!!

Area recommendations

New York is such an awesome place, it would be hard to say. We all had our fav places. The best way to start is with the "Hop On" gray line. You can see a lot of places, then go back to the ones you like!!!

DON'T RENT A CAR> walk, taxi, or sub way.

Empire State Building, a broadway show, town square

Shopping

Macys, toys-r-us, Tiffany (window shop), use coupons, and if you fly - consider how much room you have to pack, carry lots of money!!!

“Above Average Hotel, conveniently located in Time Square.”

The hotel was convenient to Times Square and easy to find and get to.. Our room was clean and comfortable, but very small even with a King Bed. In speaking with others guests throughout our stay, it seemed all had the same comments - expensive for such small rooms.

“Would stay elsewhere next time”

For the money, you can do better. No customer service. Got a "concierge room" with absolutely no perks. Ones listed online were not available. Very disappointed.

“Wonderful place in NY Times Square”

Loved our stay at your hotel. The staff was courteous, willingly helpful, and competent. The excellent location looking down on Times Square was perfect, especially as we were there for the unveiling of the AOL about.me winners being put up on a billboard, (my sons' band, Enation, won the grand prize). The room was clean and serviced promptly. Thank you for making our visit to Times Square wonderful!

“We became NYCity-fied”

You can't get more in the center of Times Square than this! Right in the middle of the theater district, close to the 5th Ave shopping, lots of great restuarants, Top of the Rock-efeller Center, and subway stations to the rest of Manhattan. We became acclimated to the neighborhood quickly and had a great stay. Loved the city and it started with a great place to stay.

Area recommendations

We walked to Rockefeller Center and 5th to Lex Ave, found everything we wanted. Found subway to MET and caught a tour bus all within one block from hotel.

Getting around

Learn to use the subway access to virtually any place in the city. It will save a bundle on cab fares. tip 1: buy the metro pass $10 each use is approx $2. tip 2: many stops have a different entrance for each direction of the train, ie one entrance for northbound, another entrance across the street for the southbound train.

“Times Square and Theater Perfection”

The Crowne Plaza was the cornerstone for our excellent stay in NYC. This location was absolutely paramount to the shows we wanted to see and the experience of visiting the Garment District, the Diamond District and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. My mother had never visited the City. We got to see everything we wanted and more because of this location. One of the huge hidden bonuses of staying at this hotel was the comfort of the beds. When we got in from a long day of sight seeing and shows, we were able to sleep soundly so we could begin again the next day. We were above Times Square but did not experience any noise or disruption from that very busy place. The room was clean, well provisioned and very comfortable even though we spent as little time as possible there. The coffee machine really pleased my mother and the in-room safe was super convenient. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else to visit the City. The staff was helpful and very knowledgeable as well as consistently available for any request. From directions to the theater and hailing taxis for our excursions to advising us about the subway versus a taxi, we had pleasant and useful interactions with everyone on staff. I can't wait to go back. I wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else.

Area recommendations

I was particularly touched by the tour of Ellis Island. We were able to find records for relatives who had come over to America in 1906. It was moving and educational to see how much they had to go through. We also visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art. That was absolutely amazing. I cannot begin to imagine ever getting tired of that place. I enjoyed the Egyptian displays the most, but the Asian Art was a close second. We wandered in the Garment District to satisfy my mother's desire to find some exclusive fabric for an upcoming project. We were not disappointed. The ongoing activities and crowds in Times Square were both entertaining and exhilarating. The little deli, called EZ Deli just down the street from the hotel was our morning life saver. Their coffee was wonderful and ordering breakfast was easy and delicious. It also cost us less than $15 for the two of us to have a meal...amazing.
