Depressing environment and clumsy rooms

Posted Jan 21, 2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
I originally wanted to book for comfort inn. Unfortunately, I have to call Expedia customer care to show if they can let me checkin early instead of 3. Then the customer service representative suggested to move my plans to this hotel and he said we have all the amenities (free complementary breakfast, wifi, etc). I said yes, and I should say that was the worst decision in this decade. The hotel was awfully tiny. It can barely accommodate two people. If you want a decent stay, please don't consider this hotel.

Less than stellar

Posted Jan 19, 2015
Pros: Timely pick-up from airport to hotel
Cons: Hire better cleaning staff, renovations needed.
We arrived at the Days Inn late in the evening, hoping for a pleasant stay. We were concerned because the place looked very run down, and the lobby floor was wet and smelly. The rooms are outdoors in a courtyard, which is not ideal in a winter climate. Upon entering the room, the bed was unmade, the lights were on, and the room was disheveled. We were concerned that someone was currently in the room. We immediately returned to the lobby, requesting a refund. We were informed that we were not able to get a refund because we booked through expedia. We were not pleased. The hotel staff member was courteous, and offered us an "updgrade". The room was not in stellar condition, but at least the bed was made.

The worst.

Pros: Nothing
Cons: Nothing could improve it except to tear it down and start over.
Location: Nothing nearby except the airport
This is the worst place I have ever stayed at. Bugs in the room, even the bed. No hot water. No heat. Wallpaper pealing off walls, ceiling falling in. Absolutely filthy. Changed rooms twice but one was as bad as the other. I would have left immediately, but had already paid in advance.

Schlechtes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis 5.1.2015

Posted Jan 7, 2015

This dump ruined my NY experience!!! Stay away

Posted Jan 3, 2015
Pros: Airport shuttle
Cons: cont... not get and ran the hair dryer our entire stay for heat. We rented a car so we could sleep in there. We both got very sick while there
Location: It's close to Newark airport but hire a car to go into the city and get the EZpass as this will save a lot of money. Pick up a map from the airport
When my friend and I arrived in NY it was -4 the heating in the room did not work. We gave it 2 hours to warm up before telling the staff who said there was nothing they could do. I asked to move to a different room and was told there were none so I said I would contact Expedia. The rude receptionist said only she could help and she wouldn't, her words. I also mentioned there was no wifi in the room and the only way we could use it was if we stood outside or next to the open door. She sent a maintenance man who confirmed the heater only blew out cold air. When I called Expedia they offered to change us to another room which suddenly became available. We had the same problem with the heating but now also had no TV (the other TV had no buttons or batteries in the remote, had to make adjustments with a pen), no fridge or microwave and still no wifi. I am disabled and they tried to move us to the second floor, fine, as long as it had heating but as I said it didn't. We did give it time to heat up but it didn't and they said the broken heater was due to a window left open to air out the non smoking room that stank like an ashtray. 5 hours later, 3rd room and still fully dressed in winter clothing there was no resolution and NO HEATING. Eventually we just stayed in the room asked for a space heater and extra blankets which we did...

This hotel is good to stay one night while waiting for a flight. The staff is acceptable and the shuttle runs on time.
