“Good value for a nice dump”
This is a reasonably new hotel in LIC - the immediate area around the hotel is kind of sketchy but not unsafe. A convenience store immediately behind the hotel offers the necessities you need and the room had a fridge to keep drinks and stuff cold. The subway (7 line) is just a couple blocks away offering very convenient access to Manhattan. The service was minimal - they have almost no lobby with barely enough room for the front desk. The people at the desk were efficient and were not rude - although I didn't get the sense they really wanted to do anything for you either. I asked about storing bags and told they didn't do that. If I wanted to keep the room until 3pm they offered to charge me an addition $50 (so I took the bags with me). The room is small but clean. My room looked out on the train tracks and you definitely hear the train thru the night - light sleepers would struggle with that. The TV signal wasn't great but the bed was reasonably comfortable and everything in the bathroom was clean and worked. End result - I wouldn't recommend this hotel but would be willing to stay here if it was cheaper than the normal choices that I prefer. However, I wouldn't be upset about staying here as it offers a convenient location and clean (if basic) room product.
“The best Days inn I have ever being to”
the hotel staff was very friendly and breakfast was outstanding, very close to Subway. Rooms are clean with good wifi connection, which at times gets slow , but what more can we expect. my overall experience was good and would recoomend others too
“A Decent Layover, Close To The City”
They were doing some renovation on the lobby at the time, and it isn't a big lobby. Compact, like the rooms, and the building itself. The surrounding neighborhood is nothing special, sort of commercial/industrial, with a community college just across the street, with the bakeries and sandwich shops one might expect in that part of any city. Not much of nightlife: except for the cars and taxis the streets are almost deserted by nightfall. The one thing this hotel has going for it (besides the economic room rates) is the subway ride to 42nd Street in Manhattan. Twenty minutes to the "center of the world." As a one-time New Yorker, I was quite comfortable with that. For business, visiting and sightseeing purposes, I found it quite convenient, and compared with prices for cityside hotel rooms, the combination was unbeatable. Not even close to, say the Waldorf, but with New York public transit, I found it plenty close enough.
“I would be happy to use it again”
Enjoyed the stay. Hotel was close to subways and bus locations Continantal breakfast was a big plus. For the price the place is clean and felt very safe the only bad complain I had was communication with staff about information about getting around town.
“You get what you pay for”
The room are very small, actually the smallest I've ever seen. The cleaning staff is very rude and does not do their job right. The room was dirty, and the toilet smelled urine. At least the bed was clean (at least I hope) but I did not trust them and I slept with long sleeve cloths. I asked the front desk to give us another room, they said the hotel was full. I asked them to send the maid to clean up the room and they said she was not on service at that time. Horrible experience. I forgot, the room was below ground level, very humid and no window. Although it is cheap and in a kind of convenient location (close to transportation) I would definitely not go there again.
“Its good, but they can be better”
The hotel is good for the price, specialy in a city like NY, the room is comfortable specially the bed. You have to use the subway all the time but is close to 2 stations. they offer breakfast but everymorning is the same, they can improve in this aspect specially with the frozen eggs... the hotel don´t have a lobby just a desk front, so if you need leave for a time your baggage like is usual in the last day of the trip before to go to the airport you can´t, it can be just if you pay the room for the hours you will need.
“Convenience of hotel location”
hotel location is very close to NYC. rooms are very congusted.
“Very good”
Just a little problems with the A/C but ubication, bed, bath, amenities, breakfast, Internet, tv, excellent
“worst service ever!”
Once we got to the hotel they were somewhat nice, very snootie, an worst part you could barley understand what they where saying! Also they tried to raise our room rate an charge us again after we had already paid! The rooms are soo very small an not the cleanest either, along with the bathroom was small an smelled like urine, overall the experience was not the best at all!
“very good price location parking and internet. will go back”
easy access to subway 7/11 right next near to everything, 4 stops from time square staff will do what they have to, want more go marriot. overal great stay. PARKING IS LIMITED
