Great hotel in a fantastic location

Posted Nov 25, 2014
Pros: Great location, very friendly and helpful staff (eg. arranged hotel's own transport to airport for us at the drop of a hat), very clean, well equipped
Cons: Nothing!
Location: Literally 10 mintes walk from Times Square, Broadway areas, and 5 minutes walk to the nearest subway stations for great access to the rest of the city
This was a holiday / present for my eldest son's 21st birthday and his girlfriend, so we wanted to do everything we possibly could in New York, in the space of about 6 days. The hotel was the perfect location for this break, just 10 minute's walk from Times Square! The rooms were of a good size, very clean, comfortable and well appointed (nice flat screen TV, good coffee maker etc), in fact everything we needed for a good 'base' for the holiday. I wanted a really nice hotel in a great spot for this very special holiday (my son had always wanted to see New York from being very young!) and that's exactly what we got. On top of this, very friendly, helpful and polite staff, we'd definately stay here again, and recommend it to anyone thinking of a holiday in New York City!

excellent hotel , not the best of locations

Posted Nov 21, 2014
Pros: The room and the staff
Cons: Move it a few blocks over , away from the port authority and the parole board office
First time on the west side of Manhattan , Hotel and staff were excellent , room very clean and very comfy , but the location wasnt ideal , it was close to times square and tourist landmanrks and this hotel is perfect for first timers , but for those that have been to NY a few times it isnt in the best location.

Small boutique hotel close to TSQ

Posted Nov 20, 2014
My husband and I were married this past weekend, but aren't leaving for our honeymoon in Thailand until February so we decided to take a "mini moon" across the river into NYC for a night. The hotel staff was very naturally friendly, not forced. You can tell the staff get along well behind closed doors by their easy demeanor and good nature with one another. After finding out we were on our "mini moon," we returned from a night out to two celebratory cake pops in our room with a very sweet note from the staff. I thought it was a lovely gesture as it proved they were listening and wanted to make it known that they were happy for us. The hotel itself is very clean and modern, but tiny and only a few rooms per floor as dictated by the building's narrow facade. No couch or room to spread out, but if you're looking for a nice place to rest your weary head after a day out in the city, you will not be disappointed.

Brilliant Central Hotel

Posted Nov 18, 2014
Pros: The location, price, friendly and helpful staff and the most comfortable bed.
Cons: Better luggage scales.
Location: You are near Times Square, Restaurant Row, Radio City, Rockefellar and subway on corner.
This was my eighth trip to New York and this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. We arrived earlier than check in time and was taken to room by very friendly staff. The hotel room itself is bigger than most and the shower was fantastic along with all the little touches like, iPod docking station, pod coffee machine and kettle if you wish for tea. Linen and towels changed regularly and a chocolate and weather forecast on bed in the evening. They have happy hour each evening from 5-7 and free hot and cold food. They have water and hot apple cider at reception which is very welcome when you come back in from the cold. The hotel is directly opposite the Port Authority bus station which is where you get off the airport express bus. Will be booking again for two years time.

First Class Stay

Posted Nov 17, 2014
Have stayed in a few hotels in New York but the Distrikt Hotel was by far the best. All staff very friendly and helpful. Room very comfortable and quiet. Near port authority bus station and subway and ten minute walk to Times Square. Would definitely stay here again and recommend the hotel highly to anyone looking for a first class hotel.

Friendly business hotel

Posted Nov 12, 2014
Distrikt Hotel is a conveniently located Midtown hotel, ideally located for business in New York or New Jersey. The welcome is among the warmest you will ever experience in New York. The lobby and adjacent dining area has the feel of an intimate boutique hotel which belies the hotel's 32 storeys! Breakfast was a varied, high quality buffet supplemented by a choice of cooked classics such as eggs benedict. My room was small but very well appointed and in excellent condition.
