Pros: Location, location, location. Clean & fresh, good service, lively bar, gift shop. cafe next store, subway on the corner... PERFECT for me.
Cons: I have zero complaints.
Location: Seriously? It's 51st&Lex! Draw a one mile radius around the place & you'll find either every hot spot in NY or subway, bus or cab that'll get u there.
I booked the hotel a couple of weeks before my stay. 2 days before my stay, I checked the rates again and found the same room for $50/night lower. I called Expedia and they got me the lower rate. However, they scared me with the final statement, "your room is not guaranteed". When I arrived at the Doubletree, I was a little nervous for two reasons. The first was quickly dissolved as my check-in took less than 90 seconds. The clerk presented me with a sincere smile and two warm cookies. When I approached the room, I was thinking about the incredibly low rate I paid for a midtown hotel ($169/night) and the mixed reviews I'd read about the hotel. You get what you pay for. Right? Put the key card in the slot, took a deep breath and...WOW! NICE ROOM! The room was larger than I expected and immaculate. There was even a comfy little couch. Very pleasantly surprised by the hotel. I've paid double in Manhattan and gotten less. This place was terrific. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice enough but nothing special. Free WiFi is only in lobby - expensive in room. Bell staff was on the ball.

Very noisy indeed!

I booked this hotel for it's location and the fact that it had a gym. I arrived at the hotel and to my disappointment the gym was being refurbished. When I checked in I requested a very quiet room and was put on the fourth floor. At 5am I could hear persistent loud banging noises and at 8am there was additional drilling noises. I rang the front desk at 6am and was told there was no renovations taking place in the hotel. I really needed to have a good nights sleep as I had to fly back to The UK the day after. I complained about the room in the morning to a lady called Stef on the Hilton Honors Desk who told me there wasn't anything she could do about it, and that I should not have been put on the 4th floor as I was under the gym which was being renovated! After continuing to complain she said she would phone Expedia and see if they could offer me a discount. She took my phone number and email address but I still have not heard anything from this young lady.

Great location, service and price. My only complaint was the cleaner they use for the carpets, it was too strong but other than that it was excellent.

Stayed during US Open tennis, so not in room much. Clean. Didn't eat or drink in hotel facilities.

Location: Great location. Check out GreenAcre Park. Go to Plaza hotel in Columbus Circle and eat at Luke's Lobster Truck (yes, it's inside the hotel).
Hotel was in a great location. We stayed here for an anniversary and it was worth the price of NY. The hotel itself could use a touch-up. The bathroom NEEDS an exhaust fan!!!! There was obvious water/steam damage to the bathroom door and floor. PLEASE install exhaust fans! Also found hair in the bathtub. The ice machine is located in a weird place; some type of staircase/emergency elevator part of hotel. It was scary and I thought a subway rat was going to jump out once the ice started rattling. Staff was ok, nothing amazing. When I asked where the ice was, I was told "on the floor." I had to ask again "where on the floor? Do I just look and it appears?!" She replied "No, by the exit sign". Thankfully, an older gentleman showed me exactly where it was without it seeming as if I was bothering him. The cookies when you check in are delicious, nice and gooey. Again, location is great. If you stay here, check out the GreenAcre Park right around the corner. It's a small sitting area with a 25ft waterfall! Beautiful and absolutely serene.
