Midtown-Convenient

Posted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: The staff and the location.
Cons: Upgrade or modernize the HVAC - it was really loud.
Location: Perfect location in midtown - walking distance to everything - Rockefeller Center, Grand Central Station, 3rd Avenue pubs and restaurants, subway.
Our stay at the DoubleTree on Lexington was fine, and it was very crowded for the Fourth of July weekend. The room was clean and large enough, but the bathroom was tiny. There wasn't any space for our toiletries, but everything was clean and in good condition. The sound from the air conditioner was really loud, but we've been finding that everywhere lately. Our only complaint was the noise in the lobby and bar area - even at 12 midnight. I guess it was because of all the guests for the weekend, but once we left that area, the rest of the hotel was very quiet. As always, this hotel is so convenient, and the staff couldn't have been nicer - they even ordered us a car to drive to EWR for our flight on Sunday morning that was a comparable fare to what an NYC Yellow Cab would have been.

Good Location

It was not 4* for sure, very busy and have to wait in line for 15-25 minutes every time you wanted to talk to a reception. If you call the hotel from outside line they never pickup?!!

For Aussie Travellers

Posted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: The position is excellent.
Cons: Have a kettle in the room. Do not charge for baggage storage.
Location: See above
The position of the hotel is wonderful, but it is quite different to a hotel in Australia. No kettle in the room, no capacity to make tea or coffee, and if you want to store baggage, you pay, regardless of being a customer. We were also charges over dollars for attempting a phone call from our room, even though we did not get through! That said, the room was comfortable and you are not far from Litle Collins Coffee Shop, an Austalian style coffee shop.

Nice hotel near luxury shops

Posted Jul 5, 2015
Hotel is clean. Staff is good. Problem is that internet is not free and costs 15 dollars per day up to 3 devices. And room has no minibar, complimentary drinks such as tea, coffee, water, or at least some fridge and tea maker would be nice..

Nice Hotel close to my conference venue

Posted Jul 5, 2015
Cleanliness of room is good. Corridor carpet I bad shape. Staff lacks basic courtesy. They need to provide coffee maker in room. This is one thing a business. Traveller expects.

Very convenient midtown location. At subway line 6 easy to downtown or uptown. Few blocks from St Patrick's and Rockefeller Plaza, high end shopping and full variety of restaurants. Pleasant staff. No check in allowed before 3 pm!

The location of the hotel is excellent. It's close to the subways, shops, restaurant and time square. I will recommend this place to family, friends and coworkers.

Nice hotel but room service with bad attitude!

Posted Jun 30, 2015
We stayed last weekend in this Hilton. The check in was good, the lady was very nice and helpful. After check in we put our luggage in our room and left right away to explore NYC. When we got back we used the bathroom the first time, that's when my sister saw the extrem dirrty toilet. It looked like somebody puked on it and there where pee marks everywhere. I called the front desk, she connected mt to the room service, I told them the problem and she gave me a bad attitude, her words " what do you want me to do... Do you want it re cleaned?" I said yes. 45 min later nobody still came so I went down to the front desk and complaint, 5 min later somebody finally came to clean it. That was the only problem we had there. The hotel is close to the train station and a lot of food options.

The location is great. Right in the heart of Manhattan. The subway is right next to the hotel. Easy to get around. The staff and the cleanliness of the hotel was great. I would recommend the hotel to anyone who's interested in visiting New York City. Great Price!!!

Exactly what we needed for brief visit to NYC

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Hotel was very convenient for driving to. Parking garage underneath has direct access to the hotel. Perfect if it is raining! Room was good size and clean. Bed was comfortable. Shower had good pressure! Staff were very efficient and friendly. We did not use the bar or restaurant so cannot comment on them. All in all our stay was just what we needed to compliment the reason for our trip to NYC -- to go to a ballet at Lincoln Center.
