Good Midtown Hotel

Posted May 25, 2015
Pros: proximity to Midtown Next-door access to transportation, shops, entertainment and restaurants
Cons: Elevator system Checking in and checking out (always there was big line)
Location: Sightseeing, shopping, entertainment.
Good accommodation overall. The elevator system was inefficient / inadequate for the going-up / going down crowd in the 16-floor, 267 room hotel. Out of 4 elevators in the main lobby only one worked most of the time. And that one stopped on every floor. The location was close to everything in the Midtown and the MTA (subway) was next door. I am a frequent stayer (HHonors member) at the Hilton. I stayed 4 nights at DoubleTree by Hilton Metropolitan in New York and received ZERO HHonors points because I had prepaid booking from Expedia. This is absolutely demotivating. I will definitely drop the Hilton HHonors system in favor of Marriott and Wyndham rewards. In the history of frequency marketing, brands earn loyalty by rewarding customers and not penalizing them.

Hotel NOT Hygienic

Posted May 21, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Provide paper cups for guests to use.
Location: It is on the East Side, midtown Manhattan, convenient to everything.
The hotel, basically, for a New York hotel, costing only $300 per night is... OK. Best thing about it is its location in midtown Manhattan on the East Side. The WORST thing about the hotel is that it is unhygienic: after ALL that has been written and shown on countless TV programs about the dirtiness of hotel glass cups, this hotel still doesn't provide paper cups for guest to use to drink water or brush teeth with. It only provides the guests with... glass cups! Glass cups that we now know are perfunctorily washed by the maids. Major strike.

Generic

Posted May 20, 2015
Pros: Clean
Cons: Improve internet connection. Look into why crew still knocks on door even if no service requested. Maybe add a small fridge.
Location: Good location if can walk a bit. Train station right on the block. Large variety of eating/drinking establishments within a just a few block radius.
Not much to really like or dislike about this place. Cleaning crew still knock on door or try to open even with card on lever handle indicating no service requested. First time she said it had fallen off (and was clear it belonged to room), but happened again two more mornings. Internet connectivity mediocre even by third world standard. Toilet lid extremely loud (yes) when raising or lowering like gears churning. Can hear it from adjoining rooms. Having said that, we enjoyed our stay since we're only in the room to sleep 6 hrs.

Great location with modern rooms.

Posted May 19, 2015
Pros: location and modern room.
Location: lots of delis and coffee places, next to subway stops
The room was clean and modern (flat screen, nice comforter, good bathroom amenities). It seems that they have renovated the rooms although this is an old building. A warm cookie with the check-in at night was a nice welcome. However, I was very disappointed with the fact that a Hilton hotel would: a) charge $1 to store your suitcase and $1 to get it back, 2) there was no coffee maker in the room, which is a standard amenity even in motels nowadays, 3) there was a charge for internet in the room.

Buena ubicación

Muy buena ubicación. En la esquina esta una estación de metro, caminando se llega a Time Square y muy segura la zona. Lamentablemente el personal del hotel son poco amigables.

Nice hotel in downtown

Posted May 17, 2015
Pros: Good location at reasonable price
Cons: Add coffee maker
Location: Rockyfeller center, Grand central station, Bryant park
Easy to get around, next to subway station, walkable to major attractions
