Clean. Room was very dim and gloomy looking.

Convenient to Rockefeller Center..but for the price they could hv decorated the place better. Very cheap decor even for NYC standards.

Hotel close to sights

Posted Dec 12, 2014
Pros: It's proximity to key sites for sightseeing.
Cons: Ability to adjust room temperature.
We didn't get the view we requested, but the room was generous and we weren't in it very much during the day. The only issue we had was not being able to adjust the room temperature. Otherwise, the staff we interacted with were pleasant and helpful. The location on Lexington and 50th put us close enough for walking to key sites. I would consider staying at the Double Tree again.

Excellent hotel

Posted Dec 11, 2014
Pros: Every single thing you can ask for
My 2nd time here! This hotel has been by far the best hotel I've stayed at and I've been at many hotels in NYC. Very accommodation to our needs and customer service is phenomenal. We will definitely go back!

Nice location but terrible conditions

Probably my worst choice in New York. Extremely dirty and tiny rooms, extra charge for wifi, no minibar...

Nice hotel, convenient location

Posted Dec 10, 2014
Pros: Ticked all our boxes.
Cons: Coffee available in the room?
Location: Convenient, safe location. Lots of things to do and places to eat
Convenient, safe location. Very handy for subway, deli's, food and many of the usual tourist attractions. My son was ill one night. My wife asked me at 3am to get up and find hot camomile tea to try to settle his stomach! The hotel Concierge was amazing, he directed me to a small deli where I would be successful, if the trailer on the nearby street corner didn't have it. It did!!!! What an amazing city!

Double Tree Worth Considering

Posted Dec 9, 2014
Pros: Great location, nice rooms, friendly staff, good bar drinks.
Cons: Some means to insure that housekeeping staff have cleaned all rooms.
Location: Great location, near Rockefeller Square, Radio City Music Hall, 5th Avenue, St Patrick's Cathedral, and right on the "E" line.
For the most part we had an excellent stay at this hotel. The rooms are larger than many in NYC and well appointed. With one exception during our 2-day stay, staff were excellent, friendly, and professional. The one exception was that a housekeeping staff member forgot to make the bed, replace the towels, etc., replenish the tissues, and clean up the room - very disappointing after a day of site-seeing and coming back late in the evening. Desk staff and management were very accommodating when this was reported the second daya nd we would recommend this hotel to others.

hotel experience

Posted Dec 9, 2014
Pros: subway right outside the building.
Cons: no complimentary shampoo,conditioner.
Location: was in walking distance to radio city music hall and Rockefeller center.
I thought I had forgotten my photo ID-obviously I was beside myself, because had brought my 11 yr old grand dtr to see the tree and experience Christmas in NYC-of course they couldn't check us in without that.I was crying,my grand dtr was crying, and she opened my pocketbook and the card was there-staff and manager were so happy for us-we had a group hug,and was given vouchers for free breakfast for the next day. it was a great breakfast.
