It was hot in the room had to get a fan from the front desk, but later found out that the building heating system isn't shut off until a curtain date(which I then understood).

Close to Grand Central StationPosted Apr 6, 2015
This hotel was reasonably priced. There were no vending or ice machines. The room was very small and the bed was not the best. I asked the front desk for a bandaid and she told me to "purchase" the first aid kit located in my room, that was $6, ridiculous! If you don't plan to be at the hotel for long(only to sleep) this place was fine and cheaper then the rest.

Not so goodPosted Mar 30, 2015
I reserved my rooms a month before and then called Three days before to confirm. When I arrive my rooms were not available for my friends. The third floor is very very noisy. The breakfast is down the hall and they were washing dishes around the corner from 7-11am. It was difficult to sleep.

Moved rooms twice. Once due to excessive heat and the next due to an overwhelming cigarette smell. Staff was nice during move.

The location is excellent - close to everything.Posted Mar 19, 2015
Pros: The best thing about this hotel is the location.
Friendly reception staff. Room a bit on the small size, but this is to be expected in NYC. Our room had no view except for another building across the way. Make sure to ask for a room with a decent view.

Decent hotel. great location 2 avoid tourist noisePosted Mar 10, 2015
Convenient to be located near Grand Station. Considering the temperature outside was in the 20's I would have expected the heater to be running already when I checked it. Maybe too much to ask but it took a whole day for temperature in room to be comfortable. The room was clean but the heater/ac was loud. So was the shower of the room next door. The room was clean but saw some laundry bags in the hall way corner for almost the whole first day. I guess in the end it was ok since I spent little time there.

Nice Comfortable hotel near Grand CentralPosted Mar 3, 2015
Pros: I liked that it was affordable and close to grand central, also liked the room size.
Cons: The shower needs a door or curtain!!!
Location: Grand central, the library, Bryant Park and time square
This hotel is near grand central and a few blocks away from time square. good value for money! Rooms have more space than most NYC hotel rooms and was very clean! The shower looked a bit weird, it had no door or curtain ( not sure what that's about). But other all good hotel good service, not much of a view but nice and comfortable.

Great hotel for price & location - Excellent StaffPosted Mar 2, 2015
Pros: LOCATION!!! Just steps away from Grand Central Station! Perfectly located for sight-seeing in NY (although I was unfortunately there on business)
Cons: Rugs in general need to be upgraded, as does heating/cooling system.
Location: Very near to Times Square; Madison Ave was just up the short block; Grand Central Station one building away.
Checked in at 8pm and staff obtained a table for us at the onsite steakhouse (the Benjamin). Staff was helpful and check in was seamless. My room, 1005, was, however, uncontrollably hot. I tried to turn the heat off, and even opened the window, to no avail. Upon returning from dinner, I called the desk, and Louis (concierge) without argument or issue offered to change my room for me. My second room was wonderful! Beds were comfortable; bathroom spacious; and clean all-around (as well as a normal temp!) I would pass on the buffet breakfast - not worth $12. It's basically a continental (which most hotels offer for free) - no eggs/bacon/sausage - not even the do-it-yourself waffles. No tea-water, you have to request it. There were rolls and ham/salami for sandwiches, but don't ask for mustard/mayo - they will not bring any. All in all - you get a better value for $12 at the Starbucks on the corner. The steakhouse was fabulous. Pricey to my NH mentality, but in-keeping with NY. $50 for a rib-eye - all sides are a la carte. Beautifully aged and cooked rib-eye - and I would guess at least 16 oz. Excellent staff - but tables are squeezed in, so be ready for some bumping. In general, you cannot beat this hotel for price and location - a must-do for the traveler on a budget!!
