Great night out in NYC

Posted Nov 20, 2014
The Element and all of its staff made our stay just terrific. They took care of our luggage prior to us checking in, and the next day while we were out and about all over New York City, they did just the same. All of the staff were very amicable and energetic. We will most definitely stay here again the next time we are in New York City.

Weekend in New York

Posted Nov 18, 2014
Pros: The location of the hotel is great, it is right in mid-town Manhattan, just over from Time Square.
Cons: Definitely the cleanliness, the refreshing of items in rooms needs to be stepped up. The security for floor access.
Location: We went to a football game, the shuttle for the game was basically right next door out of Port Authority Bus Terminal, which was great.
The hotel is well situated and the staff were very friendly, our room was ready when we arrived. Couple of quirky things about the room, the carpet under the bed was ripped on a corner so was a tripping hazard and the bed itself was big for the room so on the "window" side you had to squeeze past the air conditioning unit/heater to get in the one side of the bed. The room for the most part was clean, although there were some items that weren't cleaned up behind a piece of furniture that could obviously be pulled out and which I wouldn't have noticed had I not dropped something on the floor and had to bend over to pick it up. The morning after the first night, the room was cleaned, but then it wasn't cleaned for the next two nights, so coffee wasn't refreshed, towels weren't refreshed (not that that was necessary, but had it been it wasn't done). The "free" breakfast in the morning was not regulated very well, it seemed there were people taking way more than their allotment and not leaving anything for anyone else and whether they all were staying in the hotel is questionable - but that is more of a people thing than the hotel. The elevators weren't locked off to the floors, so anyone could really just come in and go to any of the floors, although they had security in the lobby didn't really make you feel like it was secure access.

In the heart of NYC

Posted Nov 18, 2014
Pros: The staff, clean rooms, large bathroom, free wifi and breakfast
Cons: Allocation of floors for elevators -- the wait during peak hour would be up to 15 minutes if you were on a higher floor.
Location: Excellent location - everything is accessible in NYC with the subway, which is located close by the hotel
This hotel has all of the amenities you need for a comfortable stay in NYC. While the room is tiny and the refrigerator near the bed can keep you up at night if you are a light sleeper, the bed is comfortable, the rooms are clean, the staff amazingly friendly and helpful and the location close to the subway and the theatre district. I would definitely return on my next visit here.

Lovely

Somehow our reservation got cancelled and whoever was at the front desk was able to get us in a room with a view. Although we only stayed there a night, the hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was very clean and had a lot of amenities.

Very happy

Posted Nov 18, 2014
Pros: free breakfast, free wifi and a super "happy hour" with free food, beer and wine, every evening at 5.30pm.
Cons: Breakfast area is a bit crammed after 8am - but we aimed to be there in advance of that so never had a problem.
Location: It's handy for lots of things and the perfect launch-pad for sight-seeing etc.
Our room wasn't ready on arrival but the bonus was that we got upgraded to a suite - which was fantastic. The staff could not have been more helpful.

Fantastic location!

Posted Nov 18, 2014
Pros: Overall, it was a great place. Location, proximity to shopping and food and Penn Station.
Cons: A few very minor cosmetic issues, but that's about it.
Location: TIMES SQUARE!
I wasn't sure what to expect from the hotel, but I was very pleased with my stay. It's in a fantastic location, just a few short blocks from Times Square, Macy's, H&M, Old Navy, restaurants and coffee. The hotel staff was super great, extremely friendly and helpful. I made a random request for an odd numbered room and the guy checking me did not bat an eyelash and granted my request. The room was interesting; sort of like an efficiency studio with a kitchenette that included a dishwasher with plates, silverware and pots. The bed was divine; it was so comfortable, I never wanted to get out of bed. My room (903) was located in front of the elevators which I thought would be a problem, but I never heard anyone or the elevators. There was a few cosmetic eyesores, but only because I was really looking. The towel rack in the bathroom was replaced or repaired recently because you could see the drywall underneath. The paint was peeling near the shower ceiling and there were stains on the couch. Nothing major. I would definitely stay again.

Perfect Gem

Posted Nov 17, 2014
Location: Multiple subway lines within a block or two, helpful for anywhere you could want to go.
Not knowing a bunch about NYC, a friend directed me to "Something in Midtown", getting a little off the Times Square beaten path proved for a really great priced hotel. This would be great for a longer stay, especially for business travelers since the room included a kitchenette with great updated appliances. Sleek updated design to the room and amenities and a SUPER comfy bed.
