“Very happy we chose this hotel”

We wanted a good price, free parking and easy shuttle/access into NYC. Nice and clean. Continental breakfast was great: waffles, bagels, cereal, muffins, breakfast sandwiches, etc. Check in/out was very quick and easy. We have 4 people and there were only 3 bath towels but they brought up more to our room within 5 minutes of our call. One of our teenagers forgot their toothbrush and they quickly brought us one (and toothpaste). Very friendly, helpful staff. For trips to NYC, NJ Transit bus picks you up (stops are every few minutes) right in front of the hotel for $4.25 per person one way (buy a return ticket and save your receipt, makes it easier to come back without buying a ticket in NYC). It's about a 20 minute ride. We had to stand several times due to a full bus! NOTE: the return bus lets you off across the street (there is a light for safe crossing). But keep a lookout so you don't miss your stop or tell the driver when you get on. We found them to be very helpful. ALSO this is not part of the METRO system so a METRO card is not valid. Our teens went to a concert at New Meadowlands Stadium. Pretty close by but would NOT recommend walking - not a direct path and it's among buildings and fields. We found it pretty easy to get them there and back. Wish the hotel had a pool after all the walking in NYC! Hard to find a restaurant convenient because of all the one-ways and few left turn lanes but overall we were very satisified and would stay here again.

“Not Impressed”

Would you want to eat breakfast in the hotel lobby/foyer? Not enough tables/chairs so many people were stood up eating a "continental" breakfast. The rooms were ok, but the bedding/towells didn't smell too good. We booked a room for 2 adults and 3 children (2 double beds and a camp bed), but were advised they had no notification that a camp bed was required. Even after I showed them confirmation of our booking I was advised "sorry we don't have a camp bed available", so our son had to sleep on a chair (for 2 nights) with the extra linen the hotel provided. The daytime staff were very helpful, but the hotel was let down but its standard of cleanliness, and lack of assistance by night time staff

“Good hotel/questionable area”

“Unclog that sink”

We spend two nights here for a trip into the City. The sink in our room would barely drain; we told the front desk as soon as we checked in and were assured it would be fixed. It was not fixed that evening or the next day and afternoon despite a total of 3 communications to the front desk. Very casual attitude at the front desk and no clue about plumbing repairs. This could be a risk for the motel as well as a real annoyance to the guest. Wrote to the General Manager and have received no reply.

“Can't wait to go back”

Very nice place to visit and go shopping. I also loved to be there during the winter time where we also had the opportunity to see the snow. Staying in NJ was fantastic, very close to Manhattan and the public transportation was really good. I do recomend this trip.

“East Rutherford Fairfield Inn close to our grandchildren”

The hotel was packed last weekend. As a result, the food and coffee was pretty much wiped out by 8 a.m. and the one morning we slept in until 9 a.m. it was entirely wiped out. We had stayed there before because it is close to our grandchildren in Passaic. The carpet and decorations are a little worn but the room was comfortable and clean. The workout room had great equipment and no one else used it when we were using it. We will come back and plan on waking up earlier to get some coffee. The desk clerek was very accommodating about printing out boarding passes at his desk when the guest printer ran out of toner.

Area recommendations

This hotel is a little bit tricky to get to because of the road work going on when we were there, but that is a constant in New Jersey, so we got over it.

“Overpriced, but good service and location”

This was not the best hotel I've ever stayed at and you would expect more for the price I paid, but the service was good, staff very friendly. they're in dire need of some updates. t.v. was from the mid 90's. Mattress was not comfortable - but the hotel was reasonably clean and again, the staff and the fact that I was 15 minutes from NYC made it worth it.
