Good location, Quiet at night

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Location: Centrally located far enough from craziness of Times Square. Easy access to subway for museums uptown and downtown destinations as well.
Great view of the Empire State Building. Rooftop area was a nice bonus. Within walking distance of major subway routes leading all over town. Felt safe walking in this neighbourhood day and evening. The staff was very friendly and answered all of my questions about transportation. Breakfast was complete, although the fruit was not so fresh and would have been nice to non-dairy alternatives for milk for cereal. Also, there was no on-site dining options or bar. The room was comfortable and the cleaning staff did a great job. Was able to open the window for fresh air (15th floor) which is important for me. (Did not have to rely on piped-in hotel air.) Overall, a good place to stay for a decent price.

The hotel is very well located. Close to subway stations, time square, shops and restaurants. A little bit expensive, but is NY. The breaksfast is complete.

Centrally located

Very convenient to subway, Penn Station, Empire State Building. Clean except for some mildew in the shower. Coffee bar was continually running out, but never was too long before being filled up again. Florists and garden shops abound on this street - the smell of orchids and citrus trees was amazing! Our room was on the front of the building; could look out the window and see the Empire State Building lit up at night.

Good location and staff - good value for New York

Posted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: The reception staff were excellent - willing to help on a range of matters. Well situated for uptown and downtown attractions
Cons: Car ordered by hotel to go to airport failed to arrive - firm said that it had 'broken down' and replacement be there in 5 min - 10min later got taxi!
Location: Empire State Bdg & 5th Avenue stores - excellent links to subway for downtown and uptown attractions.
Rate included free breakfast of reasonable quality and free wifi which worked in the room efficiently. Rooms were on the small side but good standard of finish; shower room was good.

Great place to stay on a NYC vacation

Posted Aug 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
Comfortable beds, excellent free breakfast, low cost parking half a block away, easy walking distance to Union Square, East and West Village, Meatpacking District, Herald and Time Squares, and within blocks of multiple train lines....What more could you ask for as a base of operations for a visit to NYC....And with only a few rooms on each floor, it was a quiet hotel by NYC standards. It also sits on one of the best smelling blocks in NYC, as the hotel is in the midst of the flower district. I would stay here again, and have already recommended the hotel to friends

STAYING IN THE FLOWER MARKET (CHELSEA) SECTION

Posted Aug 11, 2014 on Hotels.com
Walking down the street with vendors putting on display their plants and exotic trees was a nice way to start the day in New York City. Subway stations are a block away making easy access to heavy tourist areas. The hotel was fine...typical small rooms but everything you need. The breakfast was minimal but fine...toast/ pastries/ English muffins/ Bagels/ cereal and fruit....The outside seating area was pleasant. The hotel staff was friendly....Moderate price...I would stay here again!!
