Very good, and one of the few places that I could find a room with 2 beds at a reasonable price!

Great boutique hotel.

We were able to check in early and also got a room upgrade. Free champagne while we waited for a taxi. Nice showers, bed. Furniture and built ins were a bit shoddy, but the decor was cool. I'd recommend highly for a couple nights.

I loved this hotel and it's unique ambiance. The only thing I didn't like with the water tempature in the bathroom. The water was to hot we tried to control it but it just seemed like the cold water wasn't working.

Great hotel and wonderful staff

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: We loved everything about this hotel. The decor, wonderful old photos in the hallways of famous people, the staff, the room, the restaurant.
Cons: Bottle of water in room for $6 or $8 was a distraction from all we loved. Take it out or lower the price. Tap water tasted just fine
Location: We only saw fireworks so I can tell you it is only 10 min walk to the Brooklyn Bridge
Not knowing anything about Gild Hall or Thompson Hotels we booked this hotel at the last minute to attend the 4th of July fireworks. We normally stay in midtown but let me tell you those hotels have nothing on Gild Hotel. From check-in (with a complimentary glass of proseco), to our room which was lovely, to dinner and breakfast at Felice Their staff could not have been more pleasant, knowledgable, and fun, Manolo our waiter at Felice along with our bartenders Frank (during dinner) and Andi (after the fireworks) provided suggestions, samples and really went out of their way to take care of us. Dinner consisted or olives w/cheese as an app, orecchiette in a pork ragu, pasta in a veal bologniase with veal meatballs, chocolate hazelnut cake and panna cotta. Breakfast was fresh squeezed OJ, coffee, french toast from the lightest raisin bread ever, and bacon egg and cheese on a croissant. Every thing was prepared perfectly and all was delicious. If not for other obligations we would have definitely extended our stay. Kudos to the Hotel Manager and all of his staff for making their hotel so welcoming.

Nice hotel in the heart of the Financial District

Posted Jul 3, 2014
I enjoyed staying at this hotel. Pros: proximity to Wall St, Staten Island Ferry, Freedom tower all a short walk away. Subway was also nearby. Room was clean, very well decorated, (rustic, masculine design). Good for people who don't really stay indoors during the stay. Cons: The washroom was basically all glass, so if you wanted to sit on the toilet, it was kind of awkward..because you can still see the person inside (though not clearly)..the water in the room was also not free, so make sure you bring your own!! The AC was kind of loud at night..no pool or gym to relax in either. No wifi in the rooms (unless you pay), only in the lobby. Ideal for those who are looking to spend most of their time outside..but comfortable stay overall.

Located in the heart of the Financial District the Gild Hall hotel is within walking distance from the Statue of Liberty and has Wall Street almost literally around the corner. Fulton Street station is down the road with the Subway running directly to most of New York's main attractions. Which makes exploring the city very easy. The hotel staff were very helpful, providing advice on what and how to do everything on our stay. The room was clean and spacious with everything we needed (hair dryer, TV and safe). Free lobby wifi was also useful. The bar and restaurant were very nice with friendly staff. I would definitely return and recommend it to friends.

Pros: Almost everything.
Cons: Maybe the elevators are sorta slow.
Location: The location was very convenient for us.
From the minute we arrived, everyone at Gild Hall went out of their way to make us feel special. And that is hard to do if you are a group of 12! We would come back in a heartbeat! The house wine was really goood! Complimentary bicycles, umbrellas, welcome drinks and smiles all around --- a real winner here. Tell all your friends.

Great Location

Posted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: Lobby was nice, loved the bookcases. Bed was comfortable and room was very nice.
Cons: Better access, or any access, to ice machine. We went to a few floors, but didn't find one.
Location: Near to the entire downtown Manhattan. Found an alley nearby, with outside picnic-table dining, full of great restaurants.
Weekend getaway to the city. Hotel is in a great location, but we thought the rooms were very small...even by NYC standards. Clean, nice decor and again convenient location for our visit.
