Clean hotel

Posted Aug 2, 2015
Overall this is nice. Its not super close to stuff, but the subway is right there. You do have to pay an arm and a leg for parking, so be prepared for that. There is no pool or breakfast, so I would not recommend this hotel for a family. Great for business.

Excellent Stay

Posted Jul 25, 2015
Pros: Friendly Staff
Location: Hotel is very well located. You are less than a 15 minute walk to Penn Station, Empire State Building, Grand Central Station, Broadway, Times Square..
Stayed at the hotel for three days with my sisters, mother, grandmother and aunt. We were all satisfied with our experience. The check in was quick and easy; the room was orderly and clean! The hotel staff were super friendly. We came upon one problem which was that we booked two rooms with two queen beds, however, upon arrival we received two rooms with a king bed and a pull out bed. Normally this wouldn't have been a problem, but since we were travelling with three elderly ladies we wanted them to be comfortable. So we spoke with Expedia and the front desk and they apologized for the situation and offered us complimentary breakfast throughout our stay, since they didn't have any rooms available with two queen beds. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who asks, and will definitely be staying there again on future trips to NY.

Nice hotel close to the Empire State Building

Posted Jul 22, 2015
My husband and I overnight in this hotel for two nights. The hotel is clean, conveniently located, closed to the underground but staff is not very friendly and internet in the room does not work very well. Breakfast is too expensive for what is offered.

Great price for the location

Posted Jul 21, 2015
Pros: Great location. Great price. Friendly staff.
Cons: Improve the Wi-Fi. Better quality signal and remove the 3-device limit.
Location: A short walk to Madison Square Garden (for concerts and sports). One block from a subway station that goes directly to Broadway.
We chose to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Chelsea because there was a great price and the location was very close to Penn Station (about 5 short-blocks and half of a long one). There were only two issues with our stay. One is that the beds were softer than we like them. This is a common problem shared by most hotels. Hilton has a firmness-adjustment control on their mattresses, but it doesn't seem to change much. The second problem was with the Wi-Fi. This hotel's policy only allows 3 devices per room to be connected at a time. This is a problem because between myself, my wife and my daughter, we've got 7 devices - four smartphones, an iPod and two laptops. We weren't using them all at once, but we hit the 3-device limit several times. In addition to this, the Wi-Fi in our room (room 205) was flaky. Our devices frequently lost connectivity altogether, reacquiring the signal a minute or two later. Trying to log on to my wife's college server to check up on classwork was annoying. Trying to stream from Netflix was impossible.

Cons: Wi-Fi speed was poor and unreliable Have never previously been charged to store bags between check out and flight (6 hours) - a bit disappointing
Comfortable experience in well placed location for both ends of Manhattan

Clean

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: Near subway
Pro: Very near subway, pharmacy, groceries, restaurants. Helpful staff, room very clean (no bugs!), nice queen beds, workout equipment. Keurig in room. Bellman hailed morning cabs for us at 6:00. Con: Had to walk "thru a jungle" of trees/flowers from subway to hotel--seemed dark and sketchy.
