Small rooms, expensive food, but quiet.

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: It was quiet.
Cons: The size of the rooms or the price.
Location: Central Manhattan. It was raining the whole time, so any extra sight seeing was not a priority.
I was surprised at how small the rooms were. About the size of an 8'X10' room. My desk chair was squished in between the desk and the bedside. I could easily rest my head on the wall opposite to me while on the toilet, it was that close to my knees. The food was very expensive for ridiculously small portions at the hotel. The rooms were however quiet and clean, but nothing special or over the top for the price tag.

Too expensive for what you get.

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Room was sufficient
Cons: Be up front about charges. don't say something is included that isn't. wi-fi, breakfast, ...I'm surprised they didn't charge for the elevator.
Location: Near Grand Central and the UN.
The Expedia site said free wi-if. Nope. Wi-fi was $14.95 a day. Wouldn't have booked if I knew that. At the fron desk they told me that the breakfast the following morning was included with the room. Nope. $28 each for my wife and I and another $10 for our son. Again, I would have never went there for breakfast if I wasn't told it was included. I wasn't too happy when they brought me the bill. I wish these charges would have been more on Front Street so I could have made a better choice before I booked.

Pros: the modern feel, very clean, friendly staff, convenient parking.
Location: Good restaurants near-by.
This hotel was very clean and seemed like it was recently renovated. Our room was very nice and spacious and we got a great rate at the last minute.

Reasonable affordability, great location

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Affordability. Location.
Cons: Well, it's an old(er) building.
Location: Two and a half blocks to Grand Central. From there all of New York is but a subway ride away. Great dinning at Capital Grille and Wolfgang's nearby.
Not too much to say about the hotel other than that it was within our affordable rates, and was in a very convenient location to get to the things we wanted to get to. Clean, well apportioned rooms. Comfy bed.

Great for the price and location.

NYC can be tricky for hotels, but this hotel was as good as expected. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, so we we're updated to a junior suite immediately!

Nice location with hysterical building.

I staied 3 night for business. Good reception and nice room. But, building structure is bit complicated. I need go through kind of fire door to reach my room. It is not nice built. Compared with hilton garden inn in 35th, overall experience was better in 35th.

Clean and great location

Hotel room and facilities were very clean, staff were great and always friendly. Great location, short walk to grand central station and the subway to hit connections to get you all over Manhattan and the other boroughs of New York. We would certainly use this hotel again, if we visited Nyc in the future.

Compact quaint hotel in mid-town Manhattan

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Great room at a great price.
Stayed here over July 4th weekend and got a great deal on the room. Midtown has the most overpriced pointless restaurants in the area, but the hotel itself was excellent. The rooms are compact by overall US standards, but felt right for Manhattan. Our standard room had a queen size bed, 30 inch flatscreen tv, bathroom and closet. Housecleaning was impeccable, hotel staff were polite and helpful. This is clearly a property Hilton bought from some other hotel chain because they've retained a lot of the old world charm while updating it nicely. The fixtures, switches in your room, door knobs, stairs and elevators to every floor reek of a different era, but with enough comfort that you can enjoy modern amenities while appreciating the old-time charm. The location is great if you're a business traveler-- proximity to Grand Central, offices, etc. If you're a tourist with an interest in theater, this works too. However, if you're interested in a great restaurant scene close by, forget it. This is a terrible neighborhood for interesting, well priced food. Be prepared to take the train/walk/a cab for at least 2-3 miles before you eat something worth your time. This includes breakfast.

Great proximity to all that I wanted to see and do

Rooms are cozy/small compared to most Hilton hotels I have stay at but understand most buildings in NYC are older. Other than that I would definately have a repeat stay next time I'm back.
