"Quiet, Comfortable, and Affordable (for NYC!)"
The room was very comfortable and quiet (even on New Year's Eve), and the front desk staff was lovely. Though the location is not ideal (it is a LONG walk from Prospect Park), it is adjacent to the R-subway-- so only a couple of stops away from [central] Park Slope and about 20 mins into Manhattan.

"Traditional NYC Luxury Experience for our 25th"
I wanted to find a memorable setting for a surprise mini vacation for my Wife and I to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. This was not going to be an easy task, as my wife is VERY picky about hotel accommodations. The reviews on the Carlyle were a bit mixed, but the location and rich tradition of the place seemed like it would be a good fit. I called the Hotel in advance to tell them about my surprise for my Wife, and asked them to if they could try to assign us to a room with recent renovations. The front desk agent I spoke to was very courteous and cordial. She not only remembered my request...she also saw that we were upgraded to a huge 1& 1/2 bath king suite (complete with a baby grand in the living room, hardwood floors, a kitchenette, and 2 walk in closets!) The finishing touch was a bottle of champagne on ice, and a gourmet anniversary chocolate and strawberry torte for two set up for us on an elegant glass top table in the living room. Very classy- very impressive. A perfect experience from start to finish. The traditional ambiance this Hotel exudes is awesome. I think that some of the reviews about the place are from people who don't appreciate traditional ambiance! Like all hotels built in the 20's and 30's, the bathrooms aren't huge, but they are gorgeous and spotless. The elevators are small, because they are meticulously maintained antiques- complete with courteous attendants. To me that contributes to the uniqueness of the place.

"Relaxing Weekend in NYC"
My wife and I stayed at The Lucerne for a weekend away from months of big pressure work pressures to enjoy time together without interruption and see opera, plays and museums. A rare weekend alone together. The Lucerne was just the ticket. The staff provides incredible warm and effective service for anything you need. The concierge was outstanding in her knowledge of NY, especially restaurants and museums. The location is outstanding. Its away from the "tourist" areas, an easy walk to Central Park, Lincoln Center and easy cab or bus elsewhere. The next door restaurant (NiceMatin) is extremely good and breakfast there was excellent. We will definitely stay at the The Lucerne again. High marks, great weekend.

"New York was cold and our little room was warm!"
The Jane was located perfectly for us to get to public transportation and move about the city. The price was right and the room tiny, but warm and comfortable. The staff was kind, helpful and thorough. New York was bitter cold. Thank you Jane for keeping us warm.

"Our Stay at the Sheraton Brooklyn"
We were up in Brooklyn to visit family during a time of freezing temperatures and chilling winds. The hotel moved it's entrance so that the main lobby did not endure the outside elements. They were extremely helpful in getting us checked in and settled as quickly as possible. They also took time to answer our questions and give us information. We had two of our grandchildren with us so the room was very accommodating for the four of us. They enjoyed the pool which was a treat for them to be able to swim in the middle of winter. Overall, we were very pleased with your hotel and staff. We will definitely be staying at this hotel whenever we come back to Brooklyn.
