Predictable, in a good way

Posted Oct 28, 2014
Pros: Clean; friendly, helpful staff
Cons: better soundproofing in the windows
Location: conveniently close to JFK; take the shuttle to the airtrain and then the subway to Manhattan
Stayed here for the second time in two weeks. Of course the room could have been quieter, but what can you expect from a hotel so near the airport? As I had a late afternoon flight after my night's stay, the hotel staff were most helpful and accommodating, ensuring that I could plan a half day of freedom in the Big Apple knowing that my bags were safely in storage. This is the Holiday Inn experience I have come to know and trust. They're predictable in a good way - no fancy frills but clean rooms and excellent service.

Room Without a View

Posted Oct 23, 2014
Pros: The staff are very friendly
Cons: Breakfast hours
Location: Nothing is near this hotel
The room is very small and dark. There is a small window but it is block by brick wall. The refrigerator and microwave are not in the room. The closet is very small and it will not fit our luggage's.

One Night Stopover

Posted Oct 22, 2014
Pros: The included buffet breakfast was awesome.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Close to the airport but that's all. Nothing in the immediate vicinity. The hotel provides several menus from restaurants which will deliver
As I was travelling with a bike and only had 24 hours in New York I decided to stay close to the airport. With the benefit of hindsight I probably should have stayed in the city as it took 1.5 hours by cab to get there from the hotel. If you weren't planning to go sightseeing it would be fine.

Convenient but noisy

Posted Oct 19, 2014
Pros: Handy for JFK
Cons: Better soundproofing
Location: Get to the airport - pronto
This hotel is extremely handy for JFK and it has all the hallmarks of a standard Holiday Inn. Our room was pretty noisy due to its proximity to the road and road traffic.

Shuttle goes to JFK only once an hour. The windows do a good job of keeping out the highway noise. Breakfast was barely adequate.

Not so close to JFK

Posted Oct 8, 2014
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful
Cons: The night-time food options should be better.
Location: Not as close to JFK as promised. Couldn't even go for a walk.
The hotel was a 15 minute cab ride for JFK a arrivals in a dirty industrial area. I arrived at about 10pm, but no 'real food' available either at hotel or nearby. The room smelled musty, but at least I could open my window - to traffic noise and smells. Breakfast was OK.
