“Easy In, Easy Out”

Traveling into NYC before Christmas is tough. Staying just outside the city and catching the bus was perfect. Great value for the money. Only complaint was that the bathrooms were small.

“Would not go back”

Very small rooms. Breakfast was great. The location very bad. Had to walk to get to a bus terminal through bad neighborhood. Equipment in the hotel was broken.

“week in NYC”

very nice and very clean(no bed bugs).the breakfast is excellent.the only thing that i didn't like is the clerk working on evenings, he is not helpfull and you can tell that he doesn't care. iwould still go back there. they have easy access to shuttle buses foy NYC.

Hotel was as described in the Expedia listing and was covenient as a travel stop on way to college in Florida. Hotel was clean, staff was helpful and breakfast was better than reported in other reviews. I would stay there again.

“Not convenient”

The room was a nice size, and food was fine. However, we arrived to broken elevator (that remained broken for the 4 days we were there), and dirty linen. Transportation into the city was neither cheap nor easy, and the staff was little help in this area. we tried private shuttle (expensive and didn't run late enough to return after a show), public shuttle (cheap but were told by staff not to use on our return trip be ause driver did not speak good english and wouldn't understand when to drop us off), and the bus (good value but again staf was not helpful in providing adequate info. Like there are. Several dirrerent buses that can be taken back and what gate to use at the bus terminal). The hotel could add a shuttle or at least more complete transportation information. Hotel needs maintenance.

“Spend some bucks more and get a hotel in NYC”

I thought I could save some money in using a hotel in NJ. Well it was cheaper than a hotel in NYC, but I won't do it again. Here is WHY: 1.Unfriendly staff at the front desk In the second night I discovered an "army of ants" in our room. It was late and I tried to speak to the front desk. I explained the problem, and the guy mentioned someone would clean it up immediately. After 30 minutes of waiting nothing had happened. So I had to go downstairs again, which was very annoying. After some "negotiating" they offered a spare room. But still in a very unfriendly way of communication. 2. Transportation: At our first day we asked the front desk which is the best way to get to NYC, because we had no idea. They offered 2 options: Shuttle Service or Taxi. No word was left about the public transportation. Do not use the shuttle service to get to NYC. Use the public transportion which is more reliable, more frequently and especially cheaper! Public transportation departures from the Super 8 Motel which is located 5 walking minutes from the Holiday Inn. You should be able to see it easily. Golden Eagel charges $ 12 for a round trip, and an extra charge for getting back after 10 pm. The public system gets you to NYC and back for $ 5!!
