Good value, terrible location

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Positives: good value for the money, quiet, clean, relatively close to LGA, across the parkway from Citi Field, a few blocks from the 111th Roosevelt stop for the 7 train; and the airport shuttles were reliable and appreciated. A good place to stay if you're going to be in that area. Neutral/negative: impossible to get a taxi so make sure you're ready for some walking. Neighborhood "might" be sketchy to people who have stereotypes of NYC (it looked fine to us), always good to be smart after dark - common sense is a good rule wherever you go. Worth noting that a taxi ride into the city is $50 with tolls and tips, but that's not the hotel's fault.

Wish the room can be bigger, but hey its New York, what can you expected. However, very good hotel shuttle service!

This was truly an amazing experience. The hotel wasn't in the greatest part of town. But overall the room was clean and the staff was excellent

Nice hotel close to airport

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, clean, convenient to subway and airport.
My husband and I stayed in the hotel for convenience of an early flight out of Laguardia Airport. The Hotel staff was friendly including the shuttle driver to/from the airport. The room was clean and overlooked the park. It was also convenient to the subway. There was one street you had to walk down to get to the subway that was a little sketchy but otherwise the area was nice. I would have no problem staying here again or telling a friend to stay here.

If u want reliability, this is not the right Hotel

Posted Jun 22, 2014
Overall impression was great..2 things that really bothered me. 1. Since I had a flight out at 6 am, i had requested the front desk for a courtesy call at 4 am...that call never came!!! Had it not been for me setting up my alarm, i would have missed my flight! 2. Since the flight was at 6 am,i had to be downstairs by 4:20 to board the airport shuttle that the hotel provides.. I got there accordingly and noticed the engines for the vehicle already started.. As I approached the Shuttle, the driver took off.. I assumed he was going to make a U-Turn around the parking lot, but despite me running behind it, the Van which had stalled at the Gate of the hotel for a minute decided to ignore me..Needless to say, I had to wait for another Shuttle and barely missed my flight.. Despite being a convient location for flight near Laguardia, the service left a really bad taste in my mouth..If you want relaible service DO NOT BOOK this hotel.

Dear Layover Traveler Thank you for taking time to provide feedback on your stay with us. I would like to apologize for the inconveniences that you have experienced at our property. I understand the importance of a wake-up call and a shuttle being on time. We will look into this and be sure that this does not happen again. We apologize once again and would appreciate if you can grant us another opportunity to make it better.

First visit to New York

Posted Jun 21, 2014
Pros: The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The location near LaGuardia was more affordable and we were able to stay an extra day.
Cons: Carpets needed cleaning.
Location: The number 7 subway stations are within walking distance and that puts you in reach of everything New York has to offer. Also, Citi Field is close by.
For some bonding time with my youngest son, we visited New York for the first time. You discover a lot about people and places on a trip like this. Being from a small southern town, our perception of New Yorkers was challenged and changed dramatically. People everywhere react the same to kindness and courtesy... even in Queens.

Holiday Inn in Queens

Posted Jun 15, 2014
Pros: The restaurant
Cons: Hotel carpet very worn
Location: N/A
Our flight was cancelled and we stayed at the Holiday Inn. We called for pick-up and the bus arrived in 20 minutes. Hotel staff was polite and the room was okay too. Restaurant was very good and all in all a very pleasant experience. Eileen Thomas
