Weekend stay with midtown pool

Pros: The pool
Cons: WiFi was very slow in the guest room.
The main reasons for choosing this hotel were location to public transport and the pool. The hotel is your standard mid-price range chain hotel. Staff not very motivated, decor a little tired but nothing to really complain about. We felt the midtown pool was very special and really enjoyed it, even though from our room we had to walk through the whole hotel to get to it and it isn't very big.

Pros: The price, the amenities, and location
Cons: Needs some upgrades. The air conditioning wasn't working and the lobby and room were a bit stuffy
Location: Great location
I have stayed at this hotel twice and I really enjoy the staff, amenities (lounge) and best of all the location

The hotel needs to be updated the bathroom door was broke at the bottom the corners of the bathroom were dirty the beds are way to small

For the price and location, it's a great place. Rooms are large and clean. Beds are comfortable. Bathrooms are small.

What was expected

Pros: The hotel itself was very clean even though it is an older hotel. The location was ideal for what we wanted and the price was within my budget.
Cons: The air conditioning in the room and elevators
Location: Very close to central park and the train. Within walking distance of Broadway and Times Square
Everything I read about the hotel proved pretty true. We were able to check in early which was helpful. When we got to our room on the 10th floor it was very warm (it was 77 outside) so we put the air on and left. When we return to the room it was still warm. We were able to open 1 window about 6 inches and it let some cool air in. We all slept on top of the covers and it was quite warm. When I checked out I told them and was informed that the heat and air are on the same system and they had not changed over yet. It was mid April and warm. I am not sure what needs to be done to change over but it should have been done or at least inform you when you check in. We had spent the whole day out with our kids and were totally exhausted when we got back. The elevators are also the slowest and tinest I have every seen. The next morning we had to wait for 5 different elevators to come and then only 2 could get in before the other 2 had to wait for another elevator.

Nice hotel, convenient location

Pros: Location, area around.
Cons: Lobby and front desk quite overwhelmed.
Location: Broadway, financial district, docks.
A very good location, just between the docks and the main financial and Broadway areas. Nice restaurants around. Kind of old, but acceptable place.

Pros: location
Cons: everything but the location
Hotel was very old and very lacking of updates. My bathroom had a toilet that was difficult to flush and the sink area had basically no where to put any of your amenities, so terribly inconvenient. Paper / plastic cups and sub par coffee to wake you in the morning. add to this - they put me on the second floor and there were conferences going on, it was very loud. I will be choosing a nicer room next time
