Nice hotel near Newark airport

I needed a place close-by for an early morning flight, and this gave me a free shuttle to the airport. My only complaint is that the hallways had a funky, smokey odor, but this was not in the room

Newark Holiday Inn

Pros: Close to the airport, quick response time using the shuttle.
It was a welcome relief after a long flight. Staff were friendly and helpful.

My Stay

Pros: The convenience to my point of business and to the airport. Overall the staff and the amenities of this hotel were in my view outstanding.
Cons: More comfortable seating in the lobby area.
Location: location was excellent for me. I no time for other attractions to visit.
The hotel is located very close to Newark Liberty Airport and convenient for the business venue I was there for. I stayed two nights, the restaurant d├ęcor was clean and modern, the staff were courteous, personable and efficient, the four and salad bar offerings were excellent, and the bread pudding is to die for. Easy to relax here when the business day is done. A great place even with the exterior renovation going on.

It's okay...don't expect much

Location: Airport, Jersey Garden Outlet Mall and AMC theater
This was my first trip to NJ. It's Holiday Inn so don't expect Marriott treatment or anything special. If you're looking for somewhere to sleep, this would work as it's comfortable and clean. However, if you're looking for somewhere that's accessible to shopping areas, restaurants etc and you're NOT driving be ready to be paying a good chunk in cab fare. Staff - friendly Restaurant - majority of our meals came from the kitchen. As usual it's hotel food, don't expect alot but the breakfast is above average. Our last meal we ordered wings to go, when we open the container we got wings and feathers!! There was feather on the chicken! It's was disgusting!! The chef apologized and I got a fruit bowl instead, look if you're cooking keep your eyes on the food. I will be sending them an email, it's just unbelievable!

Clean but no staff to help in luggage at night

Staff were not helpful at night in luggage transport and cash change, very expensive and you pay way more than you get, breakfast was super-expensive!!

Easy access from airport, and convenient.

Pros: Clean, large bedrooms.
Cons: Improve service around taxi services being called on behalf of guests. Improve efficiency of staff in bar/lunch room area.
Getting cab services was awkward as hotel staff called a cab service that was not officially identified, and had no meter, and no published rate. We got a better rate coming back from the event we went to, using an official taxi service.
