Weekend in NYC with the wife

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Bell hops should be friendlier...smile and greet people coming in.
Location: Shopping, dining, socializing, walking, bike riding.
We wanted to stay in SoHo during our visit to NYC. The hotel was located in right in SoHo and just a block or so from Chinatown and about the same for Little Italy. The hotel sits right on the corner so it is easy to pull in for the valet service. The first staff members you see are the bell hops because you have to take the escalator or elevator up 1 level to reception. I bring this up only because the bell hops were not friendly. In particular they did not greet nor did they smile which is a little unusual for a "hospitality" business, but then again it is NYC:-) Anyway, the reception was warm and friendly once we got to that level. Everything else about the trip was great and, yes, we would stay there again.

Great location in SoHo

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: The cleanliness of the room, the comfortable beds and pillows.
Cons: I would be sure that if a room cannot accommodate a roll-away bed it be noted on the website so no one else has a surprise upon arrival or add'l fee.
Location: Great location in walking distance of so many great restaurants and other things to do.
Had booked through Expedia and requested 2 double beds and a roll-away for myself, my college-age son and my mother. When we arrived, the Front Desk Clerk told me that this type of room would not allow a roll-away due to fire code. I told her most websites tell you if a room cannot accommodate a roll-away and the one I booked with did not (I often need a roll-away and am familiar with requesting one and that some rooms you just cannot have one). I told her we would not be comfortable in 2 double beds (I myself have a King size at home!) and she offered for an additional $50 an upgrade. That was one queen and one double bed which was perfect for our needs.

Good location, needs a re-vamp!!!

Pros: The location was great for me and the help staff...bell man and room attendants were super nice, friendly and helpful. Reception was so-so.
Cons: Upgrade the rooms...please! Fresh paint, new carpet, art work....place looked old and dingy.
Location: Chinatown and little Italy...all within short walk.
Hotel was in Soho close to Chinatown and Little Italy. Room was ok size wise, however needed a fresh coat of paint and some major upgrading. I would have been happy yo pay more to have a modernized room.

Great location - right in the middle of everything

Pros: The staff are outstanding - very engaged and appear to genuinely love their jobs and love creating a great experience for their guests. Bravo!
Cons: the hallways could use some upgrading - carpet, paint etc - minor point for me though. Ice machine on our floor did not work.
Location: Right on the edge of Chinatown in Soho. Walking distance to Greenwich Village, NoHo, Little Italy, Tribeca, the East Village and so much more. Great!
Lovely! Our room was clean and very comfortable - great beds! They provided us with a fridge at no extra charge, and honoured my request to not be near elevators, doors or ice machines happily. We were always acknowledged and greeted warmly, and all the staff were very helpful and pleasant. A great experience!

We stayed one night and it was perfect for what we needed. Just a quick place to stay for the night in a good location.

Wouldn't recommend

Posted Sep 19, 2014
Pros: Location was good, close to the subway etc
Cons: Rooms were old, very noisy, not spacious
Location: close to little Italy, Chinatown, soho etc
This hotel was very noisy, we didn't get one good nights sleep at all. Asked to change rooms, there was nothing available. Wouldn't stay there again

A little disappointing

Posted Sep 9, 2014
The airconditioner was so loud I had to put a pillow over my head. The bathroom sink was backing up and I reported it to the front desk. At one point i called the front desk from my room phone but no one answered. The restaurant for breakfast was quit good and the waitress (spanish gal) was remarkably able to handle the table service seemingly effortlessly. The room was really small. Overall, It was priced appropriately for the value

Pros: location
Location: Little Italy, Wall Street, China town all within walking distance
Park your own car in a lot-it's cheaper than valet and around the corner, so easy.
