New York at Belleclaire

Posted Apr 16, 2015
Pros: Great location to explore from.
Cons: The windows - stop that noise!
Location: You can walk to Times Sq from here but better using the subway. There are some nice places to eat one block over on Amsterdam St.
Great location away from the bustle of Times Square but right next to a subway on 79th St so transport is a doddle. Room was clean and tidy but had a strong smell on entry. The corridors smelt quite smokey. We went out early and then came back at 5pm on the first day and the room hadnt been serviced but it was done earlier on the other days. It is near a fire station so expect to hear those and with only single glazing youll hear traffic all night long. New Yorkers love to use their car horns!!!

Great location in NYC

Posted Apr 15, 2015
Pros: Location, friendly staff. Nice lobby but not too crowded.
Cons: Room temperature was very warm.
Location: American Museum of Natural History, Shake Shack, Central Park, restaurants. Just across Central Park from Metropolitan Museum.
Perfect location for walks to Central Park, the Natural History Museum. Also close to subway and restaurants. Very friendly staff and lovely lobby with cafe open in the morning, complimentary NY Times, and ample seating for a moment of relaxation. Stayed with my 3 boys aged 11, 9 and 6. They enjoyed the location, quick breaks in the lobby, and quick check-in.

hôtel calme et bien situé

Posted Apr 14, 2015

If you want/need to be on the Upper West Side

Posted Apr 10, 2015
Booked a suite, which was amusingly done up in Mark Twain portraits and books. It was quite cold --and usually NY hotels run hot! --and they had to bring up a space heater. (The temp outside was in the low 40s, and the radiators were ice cold.) Also, the sofa bed was rather awful and there was barely room to open it up.

Fantastic location

Posted Apr 9, 2015
Pros: Great location, friendly staff
Cons: Sound-proofing needed in rooms with city views
Location: Great location - near Central Park, Times Square and Metro station
The hotel is in a great location - 10min walk from Times Square and 1min walk to a Metro station. We paid for a room with a city view however the windows didn't shut properly so were kept awake by the noise. However the staff were really friendly and helpful and moved us to a different room. The concierge is friendly though remember they work for a ticket broker and not the hotel! They're really friendly and sorted us great Broadway tickets though you'll find them far far cheaper elsewhere

The staff was cool, but i'm probably just saying that because they upgraded me to a suite at no charge. Must say very clean.

Beautiful stay for a nice price and location.

Posted Apr 7, 2015
Pros: Price - Location - Customer Service - Quick Check-in without hassles - cleanliness - Sound Proof rooms
Cons: Window insulation (air coming in from the outside) making the room a little cold and breezy if near the window. More space to eat.
Location: Central Park - Broadway street! - Restaurants - Coffees everywhere - Near metro station
Room 323. Very poor view, almost non-existent. Visible construction going on through the window. Lucky me I went during the Easter Holidays so there didn't work during my stay. Room temperature was a little cold to my taste without any possible control of the heater that I'm aware of. Noise insulation is very good, couldn't hear the neighbors. Shower is excellent (pressure and temperature) everything is well furnished and for the price I paid (110$/night) in beginning of April is excellent compared to the others. Very well located and quiet neighborhood near everything.
