Room was a bit tired but nice space. I was upgraded to an executive suite. Bathroom is cramped and small. Would not be comfortable for larger people. Would stay again for the price.

Gutes Hotel in super zentraler LagePosted Feb 26, 2015

Good for all NY visitorsPosted Feb 26, 2015
Pros: Clean, comfortable, welcoming. Friendly, helpful staff.
Cons: The rooms could do with better lighting, but then we found 'subdued' seemed to be lighting situation everywhere in NY.
Location: Well placed for the sights of Manhattan and for taking in a Broadway show.
We found the Chandler to be a good clean, comfortable and welcoming hotel which should suit most purposes. The staff were warm & friendly and while the room was not huge, it was certainly big enough for us two. Tea & coffee was always freely available in the lobby. Beware, minibar prices are high. We did have a problem with a leaking shower tray. This was dealt with immediately, but took a couple of fixes before the repair was satisfactory. The hotel is well situated on 31st street between Lexington & Madison Ave. for seeing the sights of Manhattan. With the Empire State Building 2 blocks away and the Rockefeller Building, Macey's, Times Sq. & Broadway (among others) within easy walking distance. The hotel's Michelin starred Juni restaurant is quite expensive. If you're looking for a more affordable alternative to the hotel's Juni restaurant, I would certainly recommend you try The Martinique, just a block away on the corner of 32nd & Broadway. Very good food & service at a fair price.

its a very nice hotel for business travel , Rooms are nice and I like the facts its not to big ... the dinning is very formal the food is good but expensive . Breakfast has a lot of staff but I have stayed there 3 times and it takes forever to get cup of coffee or a refill not sure where they all disappear to . There is usually more Staff than dinners at Breakfast . But the food again was excellent .

Excellent locationPosted Feb 25, 2015
The location of the hotel is excellent, just round the corner from the Empire State building and Macys. Plenty of places to eat in the area and a metro stop 1 block away. Unfortunately we visited in the coldest winter for 20 years and although we requested a room on a high floor and quiet... We got a low floor and noisy!! I know these are only requests but the room was cold, the hotel gave us an extra duvet for the bed but getting a shower was a cool experience.

Good location, walking distance to many attractionPosted Feb 24, 2015
Pros: This was my first time in this hotel and I really liked it very much.
Location: The location is also very good since is walking distance to Macys, Empire State building and many other shops and tourist attraction.
Excellent staff, courteous and very helpful. I loved the coffee stand in the lobby 24 hrs. Especially after walking in from the cold weather. I also enjoyed the extra big fluffy bath towels and the bathrobe available in the room; that was a plus I never expected.

Great hotel near everythingPosted Feb 24, 2015
Hotel Chandler is a great place to stay if you want to be in the heart of Manhattan. The rooms are very nice, but are small (as should be expected in NYC). The bathroom was a really nice size. The Bread and Butter Market is across the street and a great place to get a snack at all hours.

Gem of a hotelPosted Feb 24, 2015
Hotel Chandler is a gem within one of the best cities in the world! Perfectly located whether your planning to northerly towards central park and the museum mile or if you want to head south on 5th avenue for shopping and down to the ever living times square. The Hotel itself is beautiful, immaculately clean and some of the most pleasant staff that I have come across. I stayed here with my (now) fiancée (after I proposed on bow bridge in central park) from the 19th of February until the 23rd of February 2015. The room was a fair size and had all the amenities needed. A shout out to the Walk in rainfall shower it is amazing. Cleaning service every day with chocolates on our pillows. Also free tea and coffee 24 hours a day in the lobby, which is much needed for a cold early start to pound the streets of NYC. Thank you for your hospitality. Highly recommended.

Pros: The room I got it was very spacious and nice.
