Nice - new Hotel -Posted Oct 18, 2013
The hotel is new and it has nice overall styling as shown by the photos which are accurate. It is one of the newest hotels which are close to LaGuardia Airport. There is no gym or fitness center at the hotel, there is a pool attached but it is separately owned and operated.

Interesting hotel in an unexpected areaPosted Oct 13, 2013
Pros: I liked the modern/futuristic aesthetic, pretty much everything white & modular. The 47" LCD on the wall was pretty impressive in the smallish rooms.
Cons: Desk staff not particularly pleasant, try being nicer to your guests.
Location: Above a shopping mall, in the middle of College Point. Near the Whitestone Bridge just off of 678. Plenty of stuff not too far away.
First of all, the location was a surprise to me - 20th Ave wasn't where I was expecting to find this hotel. It's on top of a Chinese shopping mall, so you can top up on bok choi before checking in. The decor was in a clean, modern/futuristic style, which I found pretty cool. The lobby and corridors were done nicely, the small rooms sparse but functional - the shower was very nice. There was a huge HD TV on the wall, which was hard to get away from -when it was on, the other side of the room was barely far enough back. Nice centerpoint for the room though. The Chinese desk clerk that checked us in was very nice, the local female clerks not so much. We extended our stay by one night, got a nasty surprise by the 'new' rate, having to haggle with the manager to get something not too much higher than before. Not very nice. All in all, not too bad, seems vastly overpriced for the rates quoted at the desk but ok if you find a better rate online. Surroundings not great perhaps, but interesting once inside, cool design if you like that sort of thing, and very pleasant breakfast up on the roof.

VERY NICE, AN UNEXPECTED WONDERPosted Sep 20, 2013
Pros: THE ROOM WE GREAT AND THE DESK WAS THE ADDED BONUS!
Cons: LAUNDRY. THEY HAVE A COMPANY THAT WORKS OUT OF THE BUILDING. WHY CAN THEY NOT USE THEM TO HELP THE RENTERS?
Location: GREAT LOCATION FOR ME.
THIS HOTEL FROM THE OUTSIDE HAD A LOT TO DESIRE. IT WAS NOT LOOKING GOOD FOR ME WHEN I WAS GOING INTO THE LOBBY OF THE HOTEL. WHEN I GET HERE IT IS LIKE BEING BEAMED TO ANOTHER WORLD. IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL LOBBY AND THE SERVICE WAS GOOD. WHEN I GOT TO THE HOTEL ROOM, IT WAS COMFORTABLE AN ROOMY! I COULD LIVE IN THAT ENVIRONMENT. GOOD MAID SERVICE TOO.

Great place near airportPosted Sep 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
As someone else put it, don't let the location above an Asian supermarket fool you. The hotel decor is modern-elegant, the beds comfortable, the ample breakfast (included) on a rooftop overlooking the Whitestone Bridge. (The shower was a bit rusty, though.) Free shuttle to airport and back. We were concerned about our car in an unguarded parking lot in a run-down-looking neighborhood, but came back at the end of the trip to find everything was fine. Highly recommend.

The hotel is so futuristic.Posted Aug 26, 2013
Pros: The beds were very comfortable and it was very clean. I liked the futuristic - ness of it. I've never been in a hotel like it before.
Cons: It needs a better way of getting there. Not more advertizement because then it will become too popular.
Location: To find the place was horrible but in day light you could see the area is growing corporate wise and the hotel will fit right in.
The hotel itself was wonderful, getting there was a nightmare. We traveled through Queens and even Brooklyn in the dark on a rainy night. I finally learned my new phones GPS and we found the area we were supposed to be in but still couldn't find the hotel till we spotted some bright lights. The hotel starts on the second floor and the elevator opened to a very futuristic lobby. I felt secure because the only way to get to your room was with a guest pass that only worked on guest floors. When you got to your floor the elevator opened to a large area with 3 computers up and running for your use. The room was very clean, the bathroom door was interesting, and the roof top breakfast area had a magnificent view. I would definitely recommend the Hotel de Point, and would go there again. I just recommend have a GPS unit with you or you will never find the place.

Responsive Hotel StaffPosted Aug 22, 2013
Pros: They have a great staff who seem to work well under difficult circumstances to resolve guests' issues. They are a major asset to the company.
Cons: The room facilities are a major problem area needing attention . The second bathroom was stinking like an over-powering pee in the drainage.
Location: The location is OK. We went for a specific purpose.
My family and I visited New York recently from 08/16 through 08/19. We arrived late at the hotel because we got lost. We called for directions and at the fourth attempt or so, someone finally answered the phone at the front desk. That was a tough start so I was not sure if everything was going to go south from there on. However, we were well received upon arrival and our last minute arrangement to add the kids to our room was well handled by the staff on duty. In our room, we noticed later that our sink was stuck and the water couldn't flow. In addition, the toilet wouldn't flush. I'm not sure if the rooms were checked prior to our being placed in there. We reported the problems the following morning and the staff were apologetic and gave us a new room. Even though it was a non-smoking facility, our new room smelled like a smoking den. It appears a previous guest had illegally smoked in there. The staff responded, took care of it by spraying the room while we were in there and again apologized for the inconvenience. We checked out and forgot to pick my husband's suits in the closet. The hotel called us just in time before we left the city, even though we had to drive back for about an hour to pick them up. Overall, they have a great staff who are very apologetic and responsive, but they need to take care of the problems before they surface.
