Error in pricing-hotel unfortunately refusing help

Posted Feb 1, 2015
We booked this hotel for Jan1st until Jan 4th, and saw an advertised price of 99$/night (the hefty New Years rates were only for dec 31, hence price was very reasonnable). We were told Hotel overbooked and raised their price to 700$ For Jan 1st to ensure no one would book as they were out of rooms. We were also told this occurred at the same time as we were booking online, and glitch sent our transaction spiraling from 99$/night to 700$/night. When we saw the mistake, We went to front desk, even called the manager who refused to correct the situation and hanged up on me. There is obviously a mistake made but hotel refuses to correct. Although transaction was made via Expedia, we were advised that the hotel received about 500$ for the night from Expedia, which is a lot higher than the highest paying room that night of 289$.. And more than the 99$ advertised. Manager refused to call Expedia to explain about the overcharge and have the situation corrected. This is unacceptable and we are still awaiting for a resolution from this hotel more than a month later. I am travelling for work 11months out of 12 and I have truly never seen this poor type of customer care. I will not returned to this hotel, what a disrespectful approach to your guests.

Weekend in NYC

Posted Jan 25, 2015
Pros: Convenient location
Cons: Staff communication skills, hotel too needs a renovation
Location: Location is great, near the Empire State Building and Metro station.
Hotel is at the convenient location and for that money is good. I needed a cheap one night hotel and wasn't willing to pay much, so for the money I gave, I got what I needed. If you need comfort, facilities, staff that runs around you 24hrs, you will not find it her, this hotel needs a lot of improvements, renovation at first. Check in and check out was the quickest ever, with a few words only. Wi-Fi wasn't working but I didn't mind it for one night.

Great location, but at night it was difficult to sleep due to the noise from the street in front of hotel. Staff was very kind but did not help when I told them my room was too cold.

交通至便。何処へでも、地下鉄で行きやすい。建物が古いので、美麗ではないけど、コスパ高い。近所の韓国料理屋街は、24時間営業で便利。

Typisches Stadthotel in sehr guter Lage

Posted Jan 2, 2015
Pros: Lage, Sauberkeit
Cons: ein bisschen mehr Platz beim Frühstücken
Location: direkt beim Empire State Building, also sehr zentral

We would stay again.

Posted Dec 31, 2014
Pros: The staff was friendly and worked hard. The hotel and rooms were clean, even if showed wear and tear. Good location and price.
Cons: The shower mixer could not hold a steady temperature, but we managed. Rooms, TV, etc were old. But we didn't visit New York to sit in the room!
Location: See above. Very handy location, especially if heading Downtown on subway. I think we made it from the hotel to Battery Park in about 12 minutes.
Hotel is old. Beds are clean and comfortable. Bathroom was spotless. Hotel is in good area and within walking distance to Empire State Building and Macy's and right on the 4, 5, 6 subway line. Easy and quick access downtown to Wall Street, Bowling Green, American Indian Museum, Battery Park, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Ground Zero and 9-1-1 Museum as well as Uptown. Price of our stay was the cheapest we found for four people. Room had one full bed and two singles. Breakfast room was crowded, and food was, eh, OK at best. Why would we stay again? The staff was excellent. Very accommodating, friendly and helpful. The manager held our bags after check out while we did some more sightseeing and arranged for a car back to the airport later in the afternoon. The worst part of our stay was that the elevator was sloooooooooow. And we could certainly deal with that.

Unusual Manhattan little place

Posted Dec 27, 2014
I got this one last minute for a Christmas stay. While the hotel is a typical "non-chain/non-luxury" in rooms, and the room has no view, the bed was quite comfortable, front desk was cooperative and helpful and the lady helping at the breakfast was a surprise (i am not used to be offered breakfast in Manhattan hotels for the price i paid of around USD150. Simple breakfast, but enough to get you going.) Plus the subway green line is at 50 meters...
