Hotel Mela

Its a great location, right in the center of Times Square. People at the front desk are really friendly. The 1st room they gave me was really very small, but just on one single request they gave me a way bigger room. That was really sweet. Overall a great experience.

for price that was paid, should of had more ,hallways small, elevetor ridiculously small,but had good location

I took my husband for his 30th birthday. The service was great but the most important is the LOCATION. Walking distance to most staples around midtown. They even upgraded our room! Another plus is the convenience of the subway stations around the hotel.

My husband and I choose hotel Mela for our yearly visit to New York. Unfortunately, the room was so small we were certain they had errored in making our room assisnment. Rather than the queen bed we requested, we got only a full size bed, no chair, no dresser, no nightstand. Just barely room for our luggage which consisted of one small suitcase. After asking , twice, for a larger room, we settled after the third try for a room that at least gave us a nightstand with a lamp. The staff appeared annoyed. We found out later from one of the clearning staff that all the rooms in the hotel are the same tiny size. The room was dark with no natural light, the carpet was dirty, and the bathtub water dripped all night.(very annoying). The worst part, we did not qualify for the resturant breakfast vouchers because we booked through Expedia ! What a dump!

BEST KEPT SECRET IN NYC!!!....Clean, great location, excellent staff. Wish it had rooms with 2 double beds and more rooms with 2 single beds.

Somewhat disappointing for the number of stars awarded. Postage stamp room with almost no surface area to put anything down (taken up with the electronic bar) Closet would not allow for hanging a trenchcoat or dress. No desk or chair to sit on. Reception desk understaffed...long wait. Lovely view of an air shaft. How did this hotel get such a high rating??? Would not return there.

The room was comfortable and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and I got a great nights sleep. The staff was very helpful. I do wish they had more information about nightlife, however. They only had 2 suggestions for places to go out to and only 1 place had a pass given by the hotel. Having more options and more passes for cover on a night out. Otherwise it was a great experience.

The rooms are very small, dark and old. However, cleaners made a very good job each day with limited space. Staff were lovely and very accomodating particularly the porters and Jean Paul the Concierge . Good location for the subway, Times Square and Bryant Park.

Great location by Times Square, Broadway shows, and easy access to the subway. We had the basic room which is quite small but served our needs as a couple. Room was very clean and hotel has a very contemporary style. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Only negative was the free wi-fi Internet which at most times had very poor reception. However would recommend staying there.

GOOD LOCATION, BUT VERY SMALL ROOMS ACCESS TO THE BED FROM ONE SIDE ONLY ,ITS NOT WORTH THE MONEY
