I stay here every time I travel to NY! Staff is great, rooms are SUPER clean, and the towels are the softest I’ve ever felt. Also, it really is close to everything.

The hotel boasts a fantastic location and a staff that goes above and beyond to make guests feel welcome. However, there's one glaring issue that left a sour taste in an otherwise pleasant stay. While the location was ideal and the staff were friendly and accommodating, there was an unexpected and non-optional amenity fee that wasn't disclosed upfront. Upon receiving the bill, we were surprised to find this additional charge, as it hadn't been mentioned during check-in or at any point during our stay. we were informed that it was indeed the amenity fee. This lack of transparency regarding additional charges wasn’t nice otherwise enjoyable experience.

Hello Ava. While we truly appreciate the review and kind remarks about our staff, we are sorry you were unaware of the facilities fee. Perhaps someone other than you made the reservation? The fee is clearly stated on Expedia’s site, both in the important information section and again when showing the total cost of the stay. The registration card all guests sign at check in also shows the facilities charge. Our guest service agents receive training to inform guests of the fee at registration time, and we are reminding all our team of the importance of that action.

This was a great hotel if you wanna be close to shopping and some tourist things but not right in the middle of the madness. All of the staff were extremely pleasant. The room was nice from decor to comfort. My only down point was that our room AC didn’t move from “Lo” setting. Aside from that, I would stay again!

Staff was great--very friendly and helpful. I visited in mid-April with my adult son. The rooftop bar with the clear view of the Empire State Building were such a great features! We enjoyed that immensely (be aware though that the bar was closed in April) The views were great! The room was clean. Unfortunately, both of our beds sagged terribly and were very uncomfortable. The room became hot and stuffy both nights. We tried adjusting the thermostat and air conditioner did nothing. You could open your windows but without any screens on the windows, we really didn't want to do that. The breakfast was actually terrible. $19 for: cold cereal, Yoplait yogurt, coffee that was bitter sludge. Industrial quality fruit. So disappointing. Cost for 2 nights in a room with 2 queen beds: $975. Not great but not terrible.

Renee, we are so sorry you were unhappy with aspects of your stay. The mattresses are a deluxe type and should be totally comfortable - we have passed this information to housekeeping and engineering so that we can correct any issues with the beds. The climate control absolutely can either heat or cool a room depending on the guest preference and as we don’t see that you advised of any trouble with the thermostat during your stay we have now also passed that to the engineering staff. We thank you for mentioning the efforts of our staff and hope you will consider Kixby for a future visit.

Our room did not appear to me vacuumed or properly cleaned before our stay. We found coffee grounds on countertop when we first entered room. Key cards to control elevators worked poorly. We did enjoy the refreshment room and staff was kind. Beds were comfortable.

Great location for the property in midtown, maybe a 10 minute walk to the theater district and times square, a bunch of dining options within a 10 minute walk radius (I recommend Liberty Bagels for bagels with cream cheese, better than the breakfast sandwiches), and 2 minute walk from a subway entrance. Got a room with a king-size bed, and the room is a pretty good size for the city. The hotel is of course on the street, so at night, you might hear some sirens or horns honking, but just bring some ear plugs since this is NYC and that's to be expected. The hotel also has a small fitness studio (treadmills, pelotons, and some weights), a 24/7 water and coffee station, and penthouse/rooftop to walk out to and see a beautiful view of the empire state building on. There is a $250 deposit in addition to the cost of the hotel so that's something to be aware of. But overall, really loved this hotel, very clean, and will be back again.

The in-room decor was lovely and the room was a decent size. We were happy with our room. I did not care for the all-black interior (lobby, halls, lounge) which made the rest of the hotel always dark and gloomy. And the daily “resort fee” is simply annoying - a way to charge an extra $30/night while posting a lower rate. I know most NYC hotels charge such a fee, but there’s no value in it - a reusable water bottle, WiFi, access to a gym we didn’t use, and access to free coffee. These things are standard features at most hotels without charge. I felt nickel and dimed and would rather be charged a rate that includes those things.

Wonderful stay, quaint and beautiful room, clean and comfortable. We had a bottle of bubbly waiting for us in our room, it was my husband’s birthday the day we arrived. Great location, walkable to many local attractions. Overall we give the hotel 5 stars.

Kixby’s convenient and central Manhattan location makes it very easy to reach the ESB, Theatre District, Macy’s and for whatever is not walking distance we are a half block from buses and a major subway stop. We hope you stay with us again on your next NYC visit and thank you for posting a review.

Staff very friendly. Property is in great location and Penthouse (the lookup) has great views but common areas need some TLC. Rooms/bathroom were nice. In a good location. Would stay here again all things considered.
