Good Location. Comfortable hotel

Posted Dec 18, 2014
Pros: Location
Overall pleased with stay. Hotel is in a good location, very near to Macy's and walking distance to Times Square etc. Also, main subway station very close by. Room was clean and comfortable, although maybe a little small for American standards, and there was a lack of cupboard space. The majority of staff were helpful and friendly. However, let down by the Porter who broke one of the suitcases when he put it in the taxi upon our departure (and didn't say anything) which caused us problems when we arrived at the airport. Breakfast was good, and there is a bar serving food. There is also an excellent restaurant and bar right across the road.

Surprise.....surprise!

Posted Dec 16, 2014
Pros: The old charm decor......and even though it was closed....the Rooftop Bar.
Location: Great location! Centrally located between Grand Central and Penn Station.
Not knowing anything, but the rate and location found on Google....I love hotel Metro. the gentleman who checked me in was so nice....sorry can't remember his name! The room was great...lots of hot water and comfy bed. The complimentary breakfast was better than high dollar places I've stayed at. Thumbs up from me.

Very nice hotel.

Pros: Older hotel, but taken care of and updated. Location excellent. Nice free continental breakfast. Great music playing.
Cons: To be there in the summer and take advantage of the roof top cafe.
Location: Near theaters, shopping,Bryant Park (skating, food and craft shops), restaurants and metro. What could be better.
The best surprise was we got upgraded and had a terrific room on the 12 th floor. Still had slight street noise late, but it wasn't a problem.

Very good mid-town hotel at a good price.

Posted Dec 9, 2014
Pros: The mattress, the staff and the breakfast.
Cons: For the money, nothing.
Location: Aside from the convenitent access to Penn Station and Grand Central, the Metro is very close the Empire State building and Madision Square Garden
I was there for one night on a quick business trip. With Penn Station nearby, the location was very convenient for me. It took less then 45 minutes to get to and from Newark Airpost on the TNJ trains for a cost of less than $10. The staff was both helpful and friendly and all of the usual lodging transactions were conducted in a quick and effecient manner. My room was reasonably sized for mid-town and in good condition. It was clean with nice appointments and quiet considering the location. It also came with the most comfortable hotel mattress I have ever encountered. I don't know what it is, but whatever brand they use is amazing. They have a good complimentary breakfast served in a pleasant dining room. Heavy on the starches, but good strarches.
