“great stay, great location”

we found the Roger to be a great choice. The rooms were small but comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful. It was within reasonable walking distance of times square, the empire state buliding, grand central, etc. would definitely stay there again.

“Hidden Fees”

I was charged extra for staying at this hotel. An extra fee popped up on my credit card although I did not use anything in the hotel. Disappointed with the quality considering the price. Bombarded with things to buy in the hotel room. I want a place to sleep not a convenience store.

“A simple hotel but LAVISH!”

If you are looking for swankiness, cleanliness, wonderful staff, location and an incredibly comfortable bed, this is it (though bathroom was on the small side). Four Seasons Hotel taste on a Holiday inn budget! Finally found my hotel of choice in NYC.

“Perfect Location”

The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the room was very unique with Mod decor that felt very homey. The room was very clean and had plenty of extras such as Aveda products in the bathroom and a robe. The location was perfect on Madisson and 31st close to the 6 train and times square, and we needed to walk on the streets at 2am and it was very well lit. My only complaint was the elevators where very busy all the time and they where pretty small, also we had problems with our room key not working. I would defanantly recommend it, the price was great for the location and the staff very helpful.

“New York”

The hotel was ideally located. Close proximity to Tiimes Square, downtown New York. The neighbourhood was clean with many reasonably priced restaurants located nearby.

“Excellent Bed & Service”

Stayed at the Roger Williams Friday, Sept 23 - Monday Sept 26. First of all, the staff was very friendly and helpful We had a terrace room with a view of the Empire State Building. The king bed was very comfortable and so were the pillows. We were so excited about getting out Saturday to take a look at the sights, that we left our room a mess. I thought that the housekeeper should have taken one look inside, thrown clean towels on the bed and run. When we returned late Saturday, we couldn't believe how wonderful our room looked. Even our clothes were folded neatly on the bed. After eating all over NYC, you really don't have to stray far to get some good food. Go to the TASTY CAFE across the street, also on the side street to the left of the hotel is a pub called the Crooked Knife. Great food.

Area recommendations
My daughter and I are in love with Greenwich Village. When we go back to NYC, we will try to stay in that area. We did go to Magnolia Bakery and also Molly's Cupcakes. In our opinion, Molly's won hands down. We had the Kahlua cupcake and thought that!
Getting around
The best thing we did was get the City Sights Bus Pass. We went everywhere using this pass. You can hop on and off at any of their stops, walk around and then get back on another bus. We enjoyed the Downtown Tour that goes around Central Park, Harlem, Chinatown, and shows you where John Lennon, Jackie Kennedy lived. Don't let anyone say that you should not go on that tour. It was amazing to see the Apollo Theatre and the Lennox Lounge. Grant's tomb, the statute of Duke Ellington and much more. Tour guides and their trivia are great. We had the New York Pass and really didn't get a chance to use much of it. Could have purchased just the 1 day pass for that, but the City Sights Bus was a bargain. The tour guides tell you where to go for what and how much to pay. It was great!
