“Fun times in New York”

The room was fine. We were on the second floor on the street side so the noise level was a bit of a problem since we had to open our windows because the radiator worked only full blast and it got really warm. The location was the greatest!

“Can't beat the location!!!”

Hotel St. James, is in the heart of times square. It is a few blocks away from several broadway shows, shops, and rockafellar center!!! The hotel staff was nice and poliet. There was luggage storage for guests arriving early. $5 extra for a locker was worth the money. The room was clean. Wasn't anything to write home about, but it was a decent place to sleep and had a great location!!!

I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is by far the cheapest in the area and in very good conditions, not to mention that is one block walking distance to timesquare. Not a super fancy hotel and the room size is not too big, but overall everything is good. The bathroom was clean, the sheets were clean and the attendants at front desk are nice.

“Location about all that's worth it”

Room was literally just big enough for the full size bed. Not many other amenities. Price is a little cheaper than others in times square. Not going to stay in your room in the city anyway, so serves its purpose.

“Nice old world charm”

Extremely convenient,friendly staff,clean room and a hotel that reminds you of the early 1900's......would stay again for sure!

“perfect location.....nice front desk workers”

St. James is an older hotel. The rooms are small and if you're looking for amenities go somewhere else. There is no coffee pot, no fridge. The tv is an old 19 incher. If you're looking for a place to lay your head and take a clean shower, then you'll be fine here. The walls are thin and you will hear your neighbors in the early a.m. hours. The front desk people are very nice. Your room is cleaned each day. The perfect location!!! We've stayed her twice now and would stay again.

“Great location, excellent value hotel”

I found this hotel online and booked based on the location, price and excellent feedback on the online websites. The hotel room was a good size for a single person, was well equipped and comfortable. Initially I had an issue with the bathroom plumbing, and the hotel manager upgraded me to a larger room, no problems. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, the location was so close to Times Square, the Broadway shows and subway station, and good walking distance to Central Park . I'd definitely recommend to friends as a good value basic hotel in an excellent location for a short visit to New York.

“If location is everything . . .”

Good location. Acceptable, clean room. No frills or services, not even ice available in the building. Hard to sleep because you can hear every footfall and voice in the narrow hallways. Hey, it's New York.

“Not Impressed”

Hotel was in a great location but unfortunately, that was the best part. The rooms were very outdated and not very comfortable.
