Excellent Hotel in the heart of Times SquarePosted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: What we liked about this hotel is the location, location, and it was very nice and clean.
Cons: Nothing, that we can tell.
Location: In the heart of Times Square, walk to the corner of W45th and 7th ave., you are at the pedestrian mall which runs from 42nd street to 47th street.
We are so pleased that we stayed at Hotel St. James, rm. #314 king size bed, it was everything we needed it to be, in the heart of Times Square. Walk to the corner of W45th/7th you see everything. Although the hotel did not have a restaurant or food available, that still was not a problem at all. Next door to the hotel is Dun Hill Deli, very very good, you can get breakfast, lunch, or dinner all day long. We will definitely make St. James our New York Hotel.

Worse Hotel Ive stayed atPosted Aug 13, 2014
This place was the worse part of my trip. The staff are very rude. The place is very old and outdated and the cleaners dont do their job. Never Ever staying there again. I would prefer to pay alittle extra and stay where i will be treated better.

Superb locationPosted Aug 12, 2014
This hotel was perfectly located for our needs, close to Broadway shows and subways. The room was big enough for our taste (we've seen MUCH worse in Manhattan!). Also quite quiet during the night, which would have allowed for a good night sleep if it weren't for the super-noisy AC unit and the hard-as-rock bed and pillows... But we did have excellent service nonetheless, so I would recommend it if comfort is not a priority!

2 star hotel just off 6th avenue and Times Square.Posted Aug 10, 2014
Excellent location as it's close to Times Square and Fifth Ave. Approx 20 mins walk from Central Park. However, because it's so close to Times Square you get a lot of noise throughout the night. We stayed on the 3rd floor at the front of the hotel. I would definitely recommend a much higher floor as one night we were woken up repeatedly by bin men and delivery trucks.

Location onlyPosted Aug 9, 2014
Cons: Coffee maker, double glazing, more homely feel.
Location: 1 block away is time square, 3 blocks is the subway.
This hotel is all about the location, 1 block away from time square in middle Manhattan. No food or coffee making facility, i asked the receptionist where is local for breakfast but he didn't know. My room was on the top floor (12th) and their was a constant noise from outside, sounded like air conditioning units from the local buildings, the air con unit in the room had been cut into the window but not sealed, their was an open gap around, i'd hate to be their in the winter. Very basic room.

1 Block from Times Square (Excellent position)Posted Aug 7, 2014
Pros: Very close to Times Square and Bryants Park, Also there is bag storage available which was handy as we had over 5 hours before travelling to JFK
Cons: more electrical sockets
Location: right in the heart of Manhattan, what else can I say?
Really great time, room better than expected for the price. Only drawback found was lack of plug sockets. Used the bathroom socket rather than lose the air-con. But we will definitely stay here again when we return to New York

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel!Posted Aug 7, 2014
Pros: The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and amazing. You can't beat the location!
Cons: The elevators need some work as they weren't always reliable.
Location: It's a hop, skip and a jump away from Times Square and the Theatre District. Everything is within walking distance.
Not only is this hotel in an excellent location ( a stone's throw from Times Square), we were impressed by the hotel itself. Our room was spacious and tastefully decorated. The bed was a little hard, but we still slept well. The bathroom was clean and seemed to be newly renovated with marble floors and walls. The hotel seemed quite luxurious so we felt we couldn't beat the price for what we got. I would definitely stay here again!

Very nice Hotel everthing in walking distancePosted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Been on the 10th floor was great, didn't hear all of the noise from the outside.
Cons: The front desk could be a little more friendly
I loved the hotel, the front desk was not that friendly. I did not like the fact that I had to use my credit card for their computer to print my shuttle and boarding passes

A bargain for NYC!Posted Aug 3, 2014
This place is a steal considering the location. Clean hotel, good room, very friendly staff and you cannot beat the location. When I come back to NYC I will stay here again. Keep in mind it is small, but it's New York, everything is small. Great place.
