Great stay

Posted Jul 28, 2015
Pros: The hotel was nice
Cons: No fee for parking.
Location: at the airport.
I enjoyed our stay but think it's rediculous that I had to pay 15.00 to park at the hotel we were staying at. The room rate was high enough.

Howard Johnson Newark Airport

Posted Jul 24, 2015
Pros: Staff was helpful beyond what I expected.
Cons: They need some more noise insulation.
Location: A train takes you to Manhattan but it takes about one and half hours of travel.
The hotel was OK but it is under the flight path and can disrupt your sleep. I used earplugs and was OK after that.

OK if your trip is short

Posted Jul 21, 2015
Pros: only thing is closer to the airport
Cons: make it clean and comfortable. stop charging customers for parking when they already pay for your rooms
recommended only if looking to spent hours in the room and the trip is short. If you are driving, be ready to pay $15/day fee.

Close to airport

Posted Jul 21, 2015
Hotel is a bit rundown, towels old & worn thin, stains on bathroom counter tops & shower. Hotel was clean, staff helpful. Shuttle driver got us to airport quickly, was also able to use business center late at night to finish work - although internet was painfully slow. Good hotel if you just need a bed to sleep in close to the hotel. Could use a remodel and update.

Perfect Overnight Stay

Posted Jul 16, 2015
Pros: Big King Room, TV, Clean Showers, Shuttle every 30 min
Location: Location is horrible. The only option is to eat at this hotel if you don't have a car. It takes a while to get out even with a car.
I needed a place to stay for a night but didn't want a hotel too pricey. Booked a room here and was impressed. Room was big and clean with nice TV and showers. Very unexpected. I've stay at the Holiday inn (EWR) but won't be booking there now that I found this place. Shuttle service every 30 mins on point! The only "con" I found was the location. Surrounded by airport parking lots and/or parking yards. You need a car to wounder around.

Fine for an overnight or a few days stay.

Posted Jul 14, 2015
Pros: Comfortable, cheap if you get some sort of deal. Fridge, microwave and good wifi. Really good comfortable bed.
Cons: Black-out curtains would be good. Especially as a lot of people probably use this as a stopover and might need to block out the light in the summer.
Location: There's nothing around. You can get a 25 dollar round trip to NY city from the hotel and the free 24 hour shuttle service to and from Newark airport.
Overall the hotel is fine. I got a really cheap deal with the flight and room together so I was pleased (I don't think I would have wanted to pay the normal going rate just for the room). I've stayed in another 2 or 3 star Newark airport area hotel and this one was cleaner and the room nicer. I read about other hotels in the vicinity feeling unsafe etc but this hotel felt fine (on this trip I was travelling alone and I'm a girl). One of the shuttle drivers was very nice and friendly and the hotel reception staff were pleasant. For the price I paid the room was fine - it didn't smell too fresh and I don't like hotels with carpets in general, but the bathroom, bed linen and towels were clean, and the bed very big and comfortable. There are plenty of lamps and plug sockets, a big flatscreen TV, and the wifi worked very well (there seemed to be several to choose from so you could get a good signal). I liked the fact the rooms have a big fridge, ice/freezer compartment, microwave and coffee machine - so if you're staying a few days you can take advantage of these. I would've liked some black-out curtains though as there was only some you couldn't draw and a net curtain kind of thing - so I ended up draping the bed cover over the window otherwise I ended up waking up at around 5am (in the summer there sunrise is around 5:30am). There's also a gym and a restaurant in the hotel but I didn't use either. If you have a stopover or need a cheap hotel in the area I can recommend this one.

Bad hotel

Posted Jul 12, 2015
Pros: Not an honest people. Bad, worn, dirty rooms.
Cons: Speak English and be honest.
