Very nice, hip hotel vibe

Posted Sep 27, 2014
Cons: It can't be changed, but expect the bathroom to be uncomfortably small. My knees touched the opposite wall when I sat on the commode.
The hotel itself was top-notch. The soaps and the in-room fridge were great, along with the creative express menus.

Stylish, great location but small room!

Posted Sep 27, 2014
Pros: Location, rooftop bar
Cons: Rooms could be bigger, corridors cleaner
Perfect location near Central Park, subways and Columbus Cirlcle. We stayed for 3 nights and found the location perfect for a weekend in NYC. The rooftop bar at sunset is a must! The common room bar was also good for food and the courtyard area (tequila park) was great to relax in. We didn't have breakfast in the hotel - instead visited Brooklyn Diner and Applejacks. We knew our room would be small - it was! No room to move and whilst the bathroom was light, the shower curtain was too short so our floor ended up as a wet room.

Trendy hotel

Posted Sep 25, 2014
Pros: The outdoor areas - sky deck and bar
Cons: Size economy
Location: Can't get much closer to Central Park, underground stations or great nearby cafés
The trendiest hotel bar ever, all outdoor communal areas are amazing with a great vibe. Rooms are well appointed but extremely small

Amazing bar! Tiny rooms.

The hotel in pictures and on your first arrival looks great. Very crowded at the lobby but good vibe from the music and the bars surrounding the lobby. The surprise comes when you exit the elevator to your floor. Endless dark walkways with several rooms on all sides. Once you enter your room you realise how they can fit so many rooms in a building that size. The rooms and bathrooms were the smallest I've been in.

Nice hotel close to Central Park

Posted Sep 23, 2014
Pros: The room was lovely looking....I looked forward to coming back.
Cons: Quality and selection of refreshments in the vending machines.
I stayed here during a quick visit to Columbia University and to participate in the big People's Climate March. I wanted a place close to American Museum of Natural History, Central Park (for morning runs). The room had everything I needed: comfortable bed with fluffy pillows, desk, multiple outlet power strip to plug in all of my gizmos, heating/cooling controls that work (!), adequate size shower/bath, and refrigerator. Coming up from the street, you had to run the super-bass gauntlet of the party bar (not my scene) but it wasn't to be heard in the rooms. I did hang out for a couple hours in the outdoor terrace -- nice and quiet.

Need short legs at the Hudson

Posted Sep 23, 2014
Pros: convenient location
Cons: redevelop the bathroom so that you could actually sit the correct way on the toilet
Location: Hells Kitchen is just around the corner, every food you could eat.
The room was really ok, my issue was the bathroom, it was tiny. The toilet was in the wrong place, several inches from the wall it appeared to sit in the middle of the space. Not sure why, maybe the old toilet drain was in that position. It was impossible to sit comfortably, you had to sit side on and that was only possible if you put your feet in the shower. The hotel was on the whole very dark, I know lots of Hotels are dark, but even the reception was dark in the daylight. Noisy elevators, really loud music. The bathroom was right beside the hall, so everyone who walked passed could hear you. Air con was also very noisy, but I couldn't live with out it. Just be aware how small the bathroom is.

Very small rooms hotel

Posted Sep 23, 2014
Pros: The outdoor deck.
Cons: Enlarge the rooms.
Location: The location is near Central Park.
This hotel has some great night life and nice bars, with a nice outdoor deck, but the rooms are so small, it can only fit 1 person. If you are 2 people, you might want to look elsewhere. Plus this hotel is so very far west (9th Ave.) that I did not like the location at all. The bathroom is the size of an airplane bathroom. I would not stay here again.

Booked and paid for king size bed but ended up with a queen, not a happy stayer.

They need to refresh

Posted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: It is in a great location. The rate that was offered was affordable.
Cons: Staff service, cleanliness of room and common areas, loudness.
Location: Good location to shopping, food and further transportation.
It is hip, it is trendy and the staff needs to step back and try to be less cool and more helpful. They really need morning coffee.
