Not even a one star

Posted Jul 27, 2014
We had to be moved from our room because of no ac. They said they were moving us to a better room. Well the next room was even smaller and no ac.. So we were moved to another room that did have ac. By the way we had to move ourselves!!!! Actually my college dorm room was bigger than this room.

Items stolen from room - unhelpful staff

Posted Jul 24, 2014
Pros: Central location
Cons: Improve staff responsiveness/quality - should be more helpful if visitors miss items etc Rooms are very small for what you pay
Location: Next to columbus circle and close to central park. Many restaurants & cafes nearby
Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. On the checkout day we realised that a shopping bag (clothes worth than $200) was missing from our room and we reported to the reception and the manager on duty, who committed to check internally with the cleaning staff and come back to us. Due to pressure to catch a flight, we could not wait for the police in order to formally report this. We never received any call/e-mail to confirm whether anything was found, despite having contacted again via e-mail the hotel 1 week after the original incident. Apart from this, we also had the bad luck to need to use the hotel's wifi service for urgent work purposes. It was impossible to get reception in the room and had to stay at the floor's lobby with people walking in front of us (making work impossible). We checked with the reception about this but they said they couldn't do anything (they were "sorry to hear that"). The rooms can only be characterised compact/minimal and overpriced compared to other hotels in the city. The location is convenient, however the value received was below expectations even ignoring the aforementioned negative incident.

Great hotel and staff.

Posted Jul 24, 2014
Pros: Staff. Modern design. Lots of social gathering areas. Great location.
Location: Central Park. Shopping at Columbus Circle. Great restaurants on 9th Avenue. Times Square is 10 minute walk.
We stayed here five nights and had a great experience. The staff is very casual and friendly. The rooms are modern and functional. Beds are outstanding. We were on the 15th floor, which has an outdoor terrace that is very social. The entire hotel, it seemed, was designed for interaction. The location is also perfect. It's just off Columbus Circle and close to subways, Central Park and great food in Hells Kitchen. There is a whole foods 2 minutes away, Times Square is a 10 minute walk. We would definitely stay there again.

Location is the only upside.....

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Location is the only reason we booked here. The washrooms are terribly small... I'm 5 ft 9 and my knees hit the wall on the toilet. WiFi is 15 dollars a day.

to small for confort

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: NOTHING
Cons: everything
long lines to ck in and to ck out. only two staff members on counter. rooms way too small. bathroom way to small , how can anyone seat on the toilet if it is only 6 inches from the front wall??????????? no leg room, you have to spread legs side ways and even then. what a horrible design. noise was too loud from bar below.

Good location, very small rooms.

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: The entrance hall, the sky lounge.
Cons: Sizes of rooms, cleanliness.
Location: Very close to Central Park, walking distance to most attractions, Rockefeller, Empire State etc.
The hotel looks excellent from the outside and from the inside. It is in an ideal position for visiting Manhattan. The only down sides were the size of the rooms and the cleanliness. The room was big enough for a double bed and a very small en-suite and that was all. Very little storage space and I could not sit on the toilet without bending my knees away from the wall! Also, cleaners were not that efficient despite the small room sizes. If you want location then this is the hotel for you, if you want luxury, then go elsewhere.

New York in July

Very nice hotel and have stayed several times. Kind of quiet on Monday nights and the bar is not open for the roof top area on Mondays, but quick cab ride anywhere.

good location, good bars, not best management

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: location
Cons: hotel management
my room was on a floor with construction going on, was not warned about this. rooms are tiny but fine, it's NY. seems the staff is more concerned with the bar customers than hotel's.
