terrible hotel

Pros: location
I just returned from a weekend trip at this hotel and it has to be one of the worst if not the worst hotel ive ever stayed in. the beds are extremely uncombtable , the bathroom is like from the 1930s outdated super small and mold around the bathtub and inside the door. the air vents have dust all on them. the walls are dingy and dirty. also this hotel charges for internet and the breakfast is the highest ive ever seen. the staff for the most part are not friendly and rude but I understand its newyork. if I had known the condtion of this hotel was so bad I would not of stayed here .

Disappointing rooms

Pros: The breakfast buffet was quite nice. Ramon, from Concierge was excellent to us as well as the other gentleman from Concierge.
Our first room was not clean. It also had a very musty smell and beds were very uncomfortable.

Pros: Location, pretty lobby, friendly staff.
No bathrobes, no complimentary coffee or tea, no mini-bar. Bathroom was adequate. No access to ice machine either.

Cons: HOTEL WAS ABOUT TO CLOSE FOR RENOVATIONS WE SHOULD HAVE NOT PAID REGULAR RATES ESPECIALLY WHEN WE WERE NOT TOLD AT TIME OF BOOKING

Cons: It's decorated like a funeral home, and dark and dingy. Very depressing.

My hotel was actually located in Time Square

Pros: Location,cleanliness, friendly atmosphere ,helpful staff and closeness to time square
Cons: none
Location: 40 shows on broadway, hundreds of restaurants,time square, central park and excellent shopping at a short walk away
location was excellent and staff were very friendly and helpful. It was close to Broadway and hundreds of restaurants not to mention the vibrant Time square

Pros: the staff is superb in the face of losing their jobs during the shutdown and remodel. despite the prospect of unemployment, exceptional service.
Cons: the rooms are small. the bathrooms are smaller. the lighting in the bathroom is even smaller....almost to "non-existent"! in that order.
Location: very centrally located. less than a 20 second walk to the north entrance to Grand Central.....but, at the opposite end of the Station from the subs!
a great, somewhat forgotten, asset to the city. it's a shame it's shutting down for a year, in July '14.
