Thanksgiving day ParadePosted Nov 30, 2013
Pros: all of the employees were quite pleasant and chatty.
Cons: update the rooms
Location: Walk across the street and you are in Central Park. ice skateing, jogging etc Shopping is never far away in both directions.Theatre 10 min taxiSoHo 20
Our stay at this hotel was fine. Location to central park was key/ Thanksgiving day Parade passed right by our front door. Be sure to reserve a V.I.P. spot for viewing. Local police will not let you stand by the front door. Workout room was ok. Our room was a little out dated and the dresser drawers were broken. Also construction going on in the room next to us.

Close to Central Park and Midtown!Posted Nov 25, 2013
Pros: It's proximity to midtown and central park.
Cons: Bathroom was a little small for me but it filled my needs for the most part.
Location: Since I had meetings in mid-town it was very convenient for me and a quick ride to the East side.
I love that the integrity of the hotel has not been comprised - it still has the feel of the old Essex House. It was priced right and the staff is very helpful! I would go back again and again!

My favorite hotel in New York CityPosted Nov 8, 2013
My wife and I lived in Manhattan for 25 years. We go back to the City to visit fairly frequently and we have stayed in the JW Marriott Essex House for our past two stays (one night in November and a week in August). In August we had a suite because we had our two kids with us; this trip was for our wedding anniversary so we had a regular room with queen bed. A smaller but very cozy room...everything we wanted. The Essex House has the GREATEST location, right on Central Park and close to Fifth Avenue and Sarabeth's, my favorite breakfast spot. I am a runner, so I especially love the location near the park. The lobby looks incredibly formal but it is okay to come through in sweaty running clothes...lol. This is one of the great old time NYC hotels and incredibly well managed by the Marriott family -- not just some franchise...

Well located hotel in NYCPosted Nov 5, 2013
We were looking for somewhere central to stay in Manhattan and found the Essex House the perfect location, right opposite Central Park, and a short stroll away from 5th Avenue, Columbus Circle and more. The hotel staff were efficient, friendly and the hotel was very impressive. Bedrooms were spacious and had plenty of storage space, too. Concierge were excellent.

Got To Love New YorkPosted Oct 28, 2013
Pros: Location, staff, and very nice and comfortable room.
Cons: Broken lamp that needed replacing. That's all I've got. Housekeeping does a terrific job.
Location: Close to Central Park, subways, Times Square, restaurants, shopping - ideal!
Great hotel, love the location, service, and room. It's expensive, but then most places in New York are. This is a wonderful location as it is literally right across the street from Central Park, close to the subway, close to a delicious Italian restaurant - Belle Vita, and a short walk to Time's Square. The staff is professional but friendly. We stayed in a Manhatten suite which is comfortable, large, and well equipped. We stayed here before and intend to stay here again next time we have the pleasure of playing in New York. I highly recommend this hotel.
