Great location; some serious noise issues.
Posted Jan 4, 2013
Cons: The noise levels
The hotel is in a great location in Williamsburg with a park nearby, with running track, baseball field etc. The main problem with the hotel was noise. During the weekend I was there they opened their outdoor swimming pool with a live DJ playing until 9pm and then the roof bar also had a DJ playing til 2am. That would have been fine except that the noise of the DJs was audible in my room several floors below the roof bar. So while the roof bar was fun it was difficult to sleep until the DJ finished playing at 2am. I don't know if this happens every Saturday but it is something worth bearing in mind if you want a good night's sleep there.

Nice hotel in Williamsburg Brooklyn
Posted Jan 2, 2013
Pros: Nicely appointed rooms
Cons: Lobby still getting finished
Location: Central location for Williamsburg neighborhood and convenient access to Manhattan
Hotel lobby is still getting finished as of Memorial Day which is main reason for 3 stars on condition, but rooms are very nice, even if compact - not overly small by NY standards though. We wanted to be based in Williamsburg so the location was perfect for us. Located on quiet street with little traffic. Location is good for Greenpoint too. Restaurant isn't completed yet but this didn't matter -lots of nearby ones. They do have a nice continental breakfast in the morning. Pool looks very nice but weather was too cool to try out. Pools are very rare in NY hotels. Staff was very friendly. Parking is next door and reasonably priced. L Line is nearby for quick access to Manhattan too. Overall, very nice Euro style hotel. P.S No real sign on hotel, just subtle etched glass doors. Watch for hotel loading sign on street on left, then you are there.

Pros: Room was chic even if it was very small.
Location: Very vibrant neighborhood nearby.
The lobby was under renovation. Had to go into the basement to get to my room. No coffee until 7am. No decent gyms in the vicinity. Impossible to get a cab. They told me the car service would get there in 5 minutes. I waited 15 mins and when the car finally got there, he took off when he found out I was only going to Grand Central. I ended up running in the rain for five blocks to the subway for the pleasure of squeezing onto the L train in rush hour with all of my luggage. I really wanted to like Williamsburg, but it is not set up for people who need to work and attend meetings.

Pros: Staff, design, location.
From the moment we arrived, the youthful staff was welcoming and efficient. They personified the new spirit of enterprising Brooklyn. They went out of their way to accommodate our needs and guided us how to find our way around. There was remodeling in progress, so they added a complementary small tasty buffet including plain yogurt (something I always look for and never find in other hotels), fruit, hard boiled eggs and pastries in the morning and complementary wine in the early evening. Our room, designed with simple elegance, was clean and comfortable. The Williamsburg King and Grove is located near unique shops and flavorful dining dining.

Great hotel for anyone

Pros: The room was just beautiful.
Cons: Construction
Location: Great location right off Bedford.
I was extremely pleased with this hotel. The staff were incredibly hospitable, the room was spotless, the bed was a DREAM, hardwood floors in the room, heated floors in the bathroom- which, the bathroom itself is a showpiece. I stayed in the standard king room, I believe thats the smallest, and it was small, but how much time am I really spending in my hotel room? They offered complimentary beer and wine from 6pm to 11pm. I surely took advantage of that :). I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The only thing that bothered me a bit is that it wasn't made clear that there was construction going on and that there would be no lobby and the check in area is a random room on the 6th floor, that made it slightly awkward. Like I said though, I would stay here again- and probably will, especially to see how the lobby will look once its completed. Also, I almost forgot, GREAT location in Williamsburg, right off Bedford which has tons of restaurants, markets, liquor stores, etc...

Perfection, really

Luxurious bed, really quiet room, up-to-the-minute bathroom fittings, tastefully uncluttered and elegant decor. Completely comfortable and kitted-out in every way that matters, and with nothing frou-frou or silly. Lotsa style. Very, very friendly staff - every one of them. Fun lobby. Near everything. We'll be back!
