Great hotel, close to airport!

Friendly staff and a convenient shuttle to and from the airport! The rooms are clean and spacious. We were able to get a good rate both on Expedia as well as later calling the hotel directly (I added an extra day at the end of my trip). The Magna restaurant is wonderful. Great food, good prices. Over all, a great experience and we will be back!

You are in Chinatown!

shuttle service to/from airport was good, reception staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Room was fine but it was very cold outside and heater was located in one area of room, which provided heat there but over by the window, the convection made the area very cold so room was either hot or cold depending on where you were. A plus to have the 7 line into Manhattan so close, but the walk to and from the subway is not very pleasant and this really is a Chinese only orientated area. Walls and floors were thin in the room; someone apparently checked in above me around 1.30am and the crashing and banging of (presumably) suitcases on the floor was ridiculously loud.

Nice hotel--Not so nice neighborhood

Pros: It was affordable. The bed was big.
Cons: Breakfast could be included with all stays. Since we booked with Expedia, breakfast was not included. It was only $11, but still that is money.
Location: Close to LaGuardia. Easy, but long, train ride into Manhattan. t is only a $2.50 train ticket into Manhattan from here.
The hotel and staff were very nice and the breakfast buffet was good. It seems like it caters alot to airline staff. The room was clean and quiet. There was on-street parking in front of the hotel until 9 am. The side street and the street behind were pretty unsavory with several "massage parlors." Locals I talked to said that the police patrolled the area regularly. I parked there first and then moved my car to the street in front. The manager (maybe the owner) was really nice and pointed out where longer free parking was available. My co-workers walked to Main Street at 11 pm and found some very authentic Chinese food and other restaurants still open. The neighborhood did not seem to deter them. My wife found that light rail was within walking distance and only cost $2.50 (Yes, only two bucks fifity) to get to Manhattan. That's right! It is only a $2.50 train ticket into Manhattan from here. Wow!

Hotel Experience

Our stay was a short one, arriving about 5:00 PM and checked out the next morning at 5:30 AM. We were stopping off between flights. The Studio unit was absolutely huge, and perhaps could have used some additional furniture to break up the space. Had dinner at the adjoining Itslian restaurant which served up some excellent dishes at moderate prices. It's staff was friendly and service oriented. Enjoyed the experience. Would recommend the hotel to others looking for an overnight between flights. The hitel shuttle service was excellent, and one of the reasons that we booked the hotel....coming off a flight at JFK and our connecting flight at La Guardia.

Their restaurant was awful

Everything about the hotel was better than average but they need to pay attention on their restaurant. The restaurant is maybe run by someone else but it is their reputation too. Food, service and their staff are terrible. Eat somewhere else.

Wheelchair Access

Difficult to navigate for a person in a wheelchair. Towel rack too high. Hair dryer and room thermostat mounted too high on the wall. Ramp in front is way too steep for someone in a wheelchair to navigate on their own. Not as wheelchair friendly as they think it is.

First trip to NYC!

First of all, Kelly at the front desk, is awesome! Whatever you are paying her it is not enough! Not only was she, as well as all the staff super accommodating with information on places to eat, general directions, shuttles to/from LGA, but they were super nice as well. I would stay there again in a heartbeat! The bed was comfy and our room was large enough to spread out a little.

The right place

Came to NY for one night and needed a place for the night after a long day of traveling and a busy day the next day. The good experience started with a quick pickup from LGA by the hotel's shuttle. The reception experience was also quick and painless and I was in my room in no time. The room was comfortable, clean and nicely equipped. The bathroom was surprisingly big and the bed felt fresh and comfortable. The shuttle back is also a big plus. It leaves every half hour and gets you to LGA within a few minutes. In one word - recommended.
