Trendy hotel in trendy BrooklynPosted May 21, 2015
Pros: Small, quiet, well-appointed; staff helpful, remember who you are. Rooms small but fully appointed. Great shower: rain forest and handheld.
Cons: Couldn't get promised wifi in the room, although it was fine in lobby. A few more drawers would be nice.
In Brooklyn to visit our Williamsburg-based daughter and this was the perfect spot. Close to the subway, close to her, close to McCarren Park for morning walks. First time staying here but we'll do it again.

Nice hotel in WilliamsburgPosted Apr 20, 2015
Pros: The room was immaculate and the staff very friendly. Liked that the room had wooden floors.
Cons: An additional towel bar in the bathroom would be nice.
Location: We enjoyed the short walk to the park with the beach, as well as, walking up Bedford lined with small restaurants and shops.
Our experience at the hotel was very positive. We were in Williamsburg to attend a wedding and had selected the hotel on the recommendation of a member of the wedding party who lives in Williamsburg. The location was perfect for us. We enjoyed breakfast on the 8th floor lounge and the view of Manhattan. From our balcony we saw people at a concrete park with tennis courts on one end. You felt like you saw life as it is lived in the area.

Nice hotel middle of Williamsburg.Posted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Location, rooms are comfortable, service is decent.
Location: Williamsburg is young and fresh vibrant and fun. Lots of people meet, places to eat, things to do.
Clean comfortable easy check in process. The staff is courteous and they're discreet. The walls are a little bit thin in the hotel but otherwise it's all good.

Great Hotel but something is missingPosted Mar 22, 2015
Probably the most expensive hotel in the Williamsburg/Greenpoint area. Very nice rooms and baths--even though they never seem to have the plush robes they (maybe-used to) advertise. But really?? No do-it-yourself coffee in the room or a carafe of help-your-self in the lobby in the morning. I don't think I should have to pay for a cup of coffee when I am paying over $200 mid week and closer to $350 on weekends for a room. And...the bar is never open. They have a bar in the lobby and another on the 8th floor (the restaurant was closed last time we were there) BUT you cannot get a drink at 10:15pm because they have closed up for the night and the staff who are there cannot serve you. Really??

Very disappointingPosted Mar 9, 2015
Pros: It was clean, had bamboo flooring, & no carpeting, which I liked. The bed was very clean & comfortable, with lots of pillows. The hotel well located
Cons: The shower situation- more storage room for toiletries in the bathroom. There should be clocks in rooms, & less cramped .
Location: It was convenient for my needs, pleasant, in being near a park. Safe neighborhood.
I was very disappointed in or room, especially considering what I paid for this one night's stay with my daughter. The king sized bed barely fit in the room, & there was no couch that pulled out to a bed in the room, as I'd been told. There was a rocking chair, but no room to rock in it. The wallpaper was peeling in a section. The mirror was behind the bed area, so it couldn't be used to put on make-up. We could find no clock in the room at all, & asked if they could be provided one. They asked that we check our room phone to see if there was one on it - there wasn't. They called back, saying they couldn't locate any clock to bring to our room, then called again, asking if we wanted them to bring another phone, but we declined, deciding to just rely on our watches. Also, the shower had only a partial glass door, which was very pretty, but leaked when we used the hand held shower, causing the rest of the bathroom floor to get wet, very wet! Not only that, but there was no room for toiletries on the vanity, so I had to squish my things underneath where the towels were.

Brooklyn visit.Posted Feb 14, 2015
We enjoyed our stay at the McCarren. Both our daughters live of Bedford and it was so convenient for us to just walk to their apartments. Great coffee shops and dining all within walking distance. It will be great to go back in the spring and enjoy the park. Hotel was very comfortable after long days out and about.

If you liked the King & Grove, you'll love the McCarren - Johnny's still there. We enjoyed our stay and the friendly, unobtrusive service. The neighborhood is full of wonderful restaurants clubs and bars and its right on Mccarren park.
