City Centre hotel

Posted Aug 1, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: General awareness that customers are important
Location: Central park, Times Sq
First room noisy, asked for transfer to quieter room.. OK Second room had not been cleaned, Third room 'upgrade' with larger bed and free wifi thrown in (normally $18/day in room--most hotels it is free and it did not work) but above all aircon vents for the hotel and was noisier than first room. Some staff very helpful others could not have cared less

Posted Aug 1, 2015
For here or to go?

My only suggestion would be to have a coffee maker and coffee/tea supplies in each room.

MidTown and busy

Posted Jul 30, 2015
The midtown Hilton is definitely a handy location for tourists, families, etc, and the hotel is full of them. I even saw a youth baseball team there(?). It is not a business oriented hotel. Also, they are in construction mode!

Good location

Posted Jul 29, 2015
Good central location Room was a bit noisy from something internal, which started at 6.30-7 each morning! Annoying rather than disruptive! As we had an exec room, we had access to the exec lounge, where complimentary breakfast, snacks and drinks were offered. We saw quite a few groups tag onto others who held the doors open for them - room keys were not required to get entry so it was chaotic at busy periods!!!

Can't beat the location

Posted Jul 29, 2015
walkable distance to Central Park, Times Square, Empire State, subway. MOMA and Radio City/Rockefeller just around the corner. Tow Starbucks just outside and if one is to believe the tour guide on our hop on/hop off tour, the street food vendors just outside - the Halal Guys - have been voted best street food in NYC last 7 years in a row. This is a big hotel with many amenities although we only availed ourselves of the in hotel Cafe, which was good although of course high priced because it's in the hotel. The rooms are not thoroughly cleaned. Beds got made and bathroom got tidied, but you can tell they don't vacuum or mop regularly. Staff is very friendly. I forgot to pack deodorant and called customer service to ask if there is a near by pharmacy, and they sent some up for free. I'll be back if my budget allows, you really can't beat the location for a family vacation. If you want to be less touristy and instead soak in cool stores, cafes and restaurants, then pick a place in soho, Greenwich, east side etc. everything around this location is very commercial.

Great New York hotel

Posted Jul 28, 2015
Hotel was great - my daughter and myself wanted to do alot of walking, so didn't want right on Time Square. We liked being only about five blocks to Central Park. We were able to walk to Time Square a couple of times. We did use the double deck bus three days. Bed was very comfortable after walking and sightseeing. Very pleased with our choice!
