Great NYC location

Posted Apr 24, 2014
Pros: Location!
Cons: Update the tired rooms. Carpet needed shampooing, called twice for a "down" comforter that was more than two pieces of fabric sewn together.
Location: Central Park, Times Square, Rock Center, Carnegie Hall and Theatre District all within walking distance.
Price compared to other NYC hotels was fair. Tired rooms could use a facelift. Drink prices in the bar were very expensive, even for New York standards. Found other nearby pubs to be more reasonable. Had a great grab and go café on site. Most staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Overall, can't beat the price and the location. Would stay there again.

Unhelpful staff/not value for money/noisy

Posted Apr 22, 2014
Pros: The room was well presented & location ideal
Cons: Staffs people skills, noise reduction in rooms (lifts) consider price of breakfast & add to overall fee.
Location: Very good for most of local attractions
Reception staff very limited vocal skills, on one occasion pointing the direction of internet facility without saying a word when asked the whereabouts.every encounter was short & sharp (rushed) Room was constantly noisy due to lifts. Considering the price there were no tea/coffee facilities in room also the breakfast was an additional $40 minimum. WIFI in the rooms was at an additional fee which is unusual in theses modern times. The overall price may have been due to the Easter weekend but this is no excuse for the attitude & aforementioned comments.

Hotel is central. Close to Time Square and Subway

Posted Apr 22, 2014
Pros: As stated previously the Hotel is central so you could get to many tourist attractions easily. It also has many amenities near by.
Cons: Coffee machines in the room would be an improvement.
Location: Movie theatre, Time Square, Museum of Modern Art, Subway Station, Theatre District, Shopping, Central Park, and many great restaurants.
Easter was a great time to go the NY. Trees were in bloom along with the flowers and the Easter Parade on 5th Ave and Eggs on display @the RF Centre were fantastic. The opening of Coney Island was fun though a bit chilly. The car show was incredible. There was a lot to do in NY and you did not have to spend all your time in Time Square with the crowds.

Over-priced for what you get

Posted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: Location is great.
Cons: Staff needed to worry more about the guests comfort and less about how fast they could turn over rooms.
Location: The Museum of Modern Art is 1 block away. Ten minute walk from Radio City, Rockefeller Center, and the theater district.
The room was clean and larger than most New York city hotels. However, the hotel charges extra for internet service. We were on the 28th floor and the hot water was barely warm. Staff came to check on the room Sat. afternoon about 4. They barely tapped on the door identifying themselves, then let themselves in. Maybe 15 sec. time elapsed. Not enough time for us to respond. Luckily, we weren't doing anything embarrassing. The same thing happened the morning we checked out. Definitely made us feel like we were supposed to be on alert at all times. Not very relaxing. I doubt I will return.

Great location!

Posted Apr 21, 2014
This hotel is very centrally located and is within walking distance to lots of great places, like Times Square, Bloomingdales, Central Park, and many Broadway theatres. It's a very busy hotel, but the rooms are quiet. The breakfast buffet is expensive, but there are two Starbucks across the street where you can buy coffee and sandwiches and eat them in the hotel lounge.

Disappointment

Posted Apr 21, 2014
Had to wait over an hour to get our room prepared despite the fact that it was prepaid almost two weeks prior to arrival. We arrived at 7:00 pm to the lobby . Our room was not ready until 8:30 pm. (Note that the regular check in is at 3:00 pm) AC continuously works and very noisy. (I think there was something wrong with our room thermostat) Overall disappointing.

Nice Hotel in Great Location

Posted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: The location and it was very clean.
Cons: Do not place people who are not handicapped in a handicapped room. The only issue with that is after every shower, there was water all over the floor.
Location: Very close to central park, Rockefeller Center, 5th Ave shopping and Times Square.
This is my second time staying at this hotel and it offers a wonderful environment right in the middle of everything you want to see. We arrived a few hours earlier than expected and the woman at gues registration was a little rought to deal with, giving me a hard time about my last name because it was inputed into their computer wrong. When we came back later to check into our room, then gentleman who took care of us was very kind and helpful. Other than that we had a great experience and wouldnt think twice about staying there again.

Good hotel in great location

Posted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: Location and Staff
Cons: Decor in corridors
Location: Close to Times Square in one direction and Central Park in other.
Good first impressions at check in, with friendly staff and lovely spacious lobby, very busy but no one seemed stressed. I had asked for a room away from traffic and elevator noise there didn't seem to be any record of my request and 2834 was allocated. Got out of elevator and looked at each other, the carpets, skirting boards and walls were not up to the same standard and could do with some attention. Our daughter said all Hiltons are the same and it shouldn't affect things but we thought hummn? Our room was good for purpose, nothing flash, it was a room with two double beds and adequate. Noise was not a problem. Used concierge a few times and got excellent service especially Jackie who went the extra mile with our helicopter booking, directions to get there and booking our transport to the airport. Bar staff very friendly although prices were high, better beer choice and prices around the corner at the three monkeys. Fantastic location right in the mix within easy walking distance of Times Square and Central Park.
