Great hotel esp. After a long flight

Posted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: Location and presentation. Close to a Starbucks although this Starbucks does not have wifi
Cons: The availability of wifi- when we inquired we were told that it could only be purchased. However, the second floor lobby had wifi access. Would expect
Location: Great in terms of discovering the World Trade Centre memorial , China Town , little Italy ,Brooklyn bridge and battery park
The room that we booked through Expedia was very well presented and spacious. The double beds where amazing especially after a 20hr flight. This hotel is very close to the World Trade Centre and transport links. The staff overall were pleasant.

Excellent location

Great Hotel in regards to service and cleanliness. Excellent location, easy to get to anywhere in New York via subway. Very quiet at night which made for a very comforting sleep. Would recommend to friends. Only negative would be to determine upon arrival how you are paying for your stay. The Hotel did not make me aware that their policy is to withdraw a daily stay from your credit card which does not get released for 30 days. If you are staying longer than a few days this can cause some major money problems.

Good Business Hotel

Posted May 30, 2014
Pros: Clean quiet comfortable room. Good location for financial district.
Cons: More staff to assist with luggage (steps inside hotel entrance) at busy times.
Location: Downtown Manhattan financial district. Close to Wall Street, Battery Partk (ferries to Statue of Liberty) WTC site and Century 21 (discount shopping).
Good hotel for business trip. Medium sized room. Helpfull staff (although not enough to assist with luggage at busy times). Good location for financial district although close to on-going work at World Trade Centre site so some roads currently blocked off.

Location of hotel is excellent.

Posted May 18, 2014
Pros: I liked that the personnel, from the Concierge to the cleaning staff were very personable and accommodating.
Location: 9/11 Memorial and the Museum. Although the museum had not yet opened during my stay. Statue of Liberty ferry tours.
The hotel is right downtown near Wall St. The 9/11 Memorial is just across the street. From LGA airport the cab ride only took about 20 mins. I was able to take the subway anywhere very easily as 4 subway lines are close by. While my check-in time was 4pm I arrived at the hotel by 1130am and my room was ready. This was fantastic news. As well, while my check-out was at 11am I asked for a later check out time and they gave me a 1 pm check out time with no additional cost. I have to say the hotel was very accommodating and I appreciated that. The room was a standard room with king size bed. The room was a nice size. Not a teeny tiny room where you barely have a place to store your luggage. I recommend this hotel and I personally will stay here again.

Second time here

Pros: Close to battery park ,world trade and century 21 department store !!
Cons: Sort out the wifi charge in rooms and you got perfection .
Location: Good restaurant near by called George's and great prices for all meals , great dept sort century 21, & right next door to world trade .
We like this hotel as a good base for sightseeing an close proximity to battery park etc... Staff are helpful and non assuming ,rooms are clean and the beds are to die for so comfortable No problems wiv housekeeping anything you require , just call & ask it will be sorted . Our only gripe is no wifi in rooms ( quite a big charge $12.95per day) which is outrageous in this day an age , although it's free in lobby ... Did find this annoying especially if you are on a different time zone with home ??? Most hotels offer free wifi even if it's only an hour a day .... So come on Marriott you definitely need to address this !!!!!! Handy having Starbucks attached to hotel too , although it gets real busy as world trade centre is up an running ,so be aware of long queues .

Wendy, Thank you for the wonderful comments about our hotel and our rooms. The beds are very comfortable! We pride outselves on our room cleanliness and our warm and welcoming staff. As you stated the internet is complimentary in the lobby and Starbucks however there is a charge for in room internet. As always we love to hear excellent feedback from our guests and hope we can better serve you in the future.

CLOSE TO GROUND ZERO

Posted Apr 21, 2014
Location of Downtown Marriott was great ~ close to Ground Zero, Brooklyn Bridge, Tribeca area, SoHo etc. Sidewalks were pretty congested around Ground Zero and the surrounding construction going on, but staff was helpful and friendly, rooms clean. Great view of Lady Liberty out our window.

Pros: Nice view.
Cons: Free PC and Internet AND Printer room was not available. Only FedEx/kinko was available.
Location: Location was perfect.
Great view and spacious room and bathroom. Door man and taxi driver negotiation of cost to airport was awful.
