“Novotel - good price in Times Square/Theatre District”

The hotel is locate on Broadway at 52nd street. DIdnt have time to wander about inside, but what I saw of the common areas was very nice. Room needed some updating. Older fixtures and worn out furniture, but very clean and comfortable. Room service was fast, courteous, tasty and very reasonably priced for NYC. An excellent value - if you can live with the dresser or closet that doesnt close right.

“disappointed”

Elevators were not working upon check in. Firefighters were on scene investigating the problem. Chose not to walk up 21 floors with our luggage so we sat in the lounge until issue was resolved. On another occasion when returning to the hotel after a day of shopping one of the 2 elevators was shut down. This necessitated a long wait in a crowded foyer until we could ride the elevator. Elevator issues are a safety concern in a high rise building & a disaster waiting to happen.

“Won't Stay Here Again”

This hotel was in a good locarion for activities that we had planned, but it was overpriced and had poor service. The Concierge gave us the wrong directions to catch the PATH train to Hoboken. When we asked him for restaurant recommendations, his recommendation was an obvious nearby restaurant. I had to ask ifhe would make reservations for us, and then he "forgot" to call us back with confirmation of the reservation. To get to the hotel lobby from the street, you had to go up one on two elevators. A huge bus of foreign tourists came in with their luggage as my son & I returned from a day at Central Park. I asked if we could just take the stairs and was rudely told by the doorman that the stairs were only for emergencies, so we had to wait the 5 rounds of elevators. To top it off, I opened the mini-bar fridge one night to get a bottle of water and found a moldy half-eaten piece of food that someone had left in itho knows when. I will never, ever say here again and will encourage people to stay away!!

Area recommendations

Go to Soho if you want a New York experience rather than a tourist experience.you can always take the subway or a taxi into other parts of the City.

“Times Square hotel”

Novotel 52nd and Broadway / Times Square is a great location for the NYC tourist. Rooms are good sized and comfortable. Nice breakfast buffet in the mornings - but at a NYC price. Contemporary decor looks dated and very worn. It's time for an update. Excellent exercise facility. I would stay again, but it woud love to see some updates in the facility!

“reasonably ggod choice (for NYC)”

Staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel was fairly clean (except for aged carpets down the halls). Comfort and noise level in the room was very good.

“Great Hotel, Great Location, Will go back again!!”

Clean hotel with friendly staff in the heart of NYC! The hotel is a little old, but very clean. We had a room with a King size bed and the bed was very spacious and comfortable. The location could not be any better, right in the heart of broadway, 1 block north of times square. Great place to stay!! Would recommend to anyone!!

“Great Location”

I have stayed twice at Novotel. The location is surely a plus. The staff is professional and helpful. It is worth staying there specially if you plan to enjoy the Broadway theaters. There is a very convenient super drugstore close to the hotel.
