too drab and dated now

Posted Jan 19, 2015
Pros: No getting away from the compettive price. Bed was comfortable, and the TV worked, as did the view of the river.
Cons: Bathroom, gym, decor, tea/coffee facilies in room, inclusive wi-fi, swimming pool, room temperature
Location: Well, it's mid-town NYC, very handy for Grand Central. Plenty of bars. Oh and the UN Building is next door.
This was a 4 night business trip in Jan 2015. I'm not too fussy but having stayed at a number of NYC hotels within the last year, this is really beginning to slip vs. peers even at this price point. Room was "adequate" (at best) for non-fussy business travellers who like to be chilled (literally). I'd have been a lot more bothered if I was on holiday with family. Plastic shower standing in a bath tub; very drab fixtures and fittings. Water was hot though. Gym was large and I had it to myself - but a lot of the aging equipment was faulty, clunky and in need of attention. The pool is (still) being repaired but this is impossible to know until you get there. Wi-fi really should be inclusive these days (but it's not here), and no tea/coffee/water provided in the room. Price will only get you so far - I have now stayed here twice over about a 6month period and that's the final time I am sorry to say.

Excellent location for anyone visiting the UN

Posted Jan 14, 2015
Pros: Location good. Staff professional.
Cons: Breakfast a little expensive for what you get.
Location: Visit the UN
Pleasant and professional. The front office staff were friendly and quick. The room was nothing special, but very adequate.

Location: - East-River, UN-Plaza / 44th Street - alles !!!
Mein 2.

In the middle of food, shopping and transportation

Posted Jan 5, 2015
Pros: Spacious rooms and closets, day and night city views, location on bus tour route, nearby shopping and dining, helpful staff, lots of security, & decor
Cons: Great gym but cardio machines were out of service, WIFI charges were per device, could use in room coffee machine
Location: The hotel is at the UN, on tour bus routes, a few blocks from Grand Central Station, great restaurants nearby, 5th ave shopping nearby
The room was very spacious well decorated, very modern, and incredibly clean. The last time I stayed in New York at another hotel, I was very disappointed by the room (which by the way was more costly per night than the One UN). The view was also incredible. I was on the 36th floor and the views of the UN building, the river front, The Chrysler Building, The Empire State Building and the city view both day and night was awe inspiring. The staff (Front Desk, Concierge, Bellmen, Housekeeping and In Room Dining) all of whom I had an interaction with were friendly, attentive, and responsive. Also as the hotel was at the UN, this was one of the stops on several tour bus routes. So While the nearest Subway station (Grand Central - another nearby landmark) was a few block walk away, I was able to hop on my City Sight (separately purchased) bus which came by every 20 mins or to either continue my tour or just for a ride to Times Square or other activities. The room service was quick and the food was great. ALL IN ALL AN AWESOME HOTEL

Noisy in nighttime and cold in the room till Jan 1

Posted Jan 4, 2015
Pros: The hotel location is good.
Cons: The hotel managment has to get an agreement with construction firms and local government not to work with building constraction/recon-n in nighttime.
Location: It is good enough.
There was a building reconstruction near the hotel. Workers continued their work in nighttime. Also the air condition heating control didn't worked till Januery 1, 2015. And it was cold in the room in December.

One United comodo e vicino ai tour

Posted Jan 4, 2015
