Hotel mit Traumblick auf Manhattan

Posted Feb 26, 2015
9 Nächte, Hotelzimmer sehr großräumig, extra schrankraum, Bad etwas veraltet und abgewohnt, Ausstattung minimalistisch, keine minibar/Kühlschrank am Zimmer. Swimmingpool nicht benutzbar, Sauna/fitnessbereich abgenutzt, renovierungsbedürftig. Blick einzigartig!

Hotel in guter Lage, aber mangelnder Sauberkeit

Posted Feb 22, 2015
Pros: Die zentrale Lage

Awesome view

Posted Feb 21, 2015
The hotel is very nice and I had the most beautiful view of the city from my room's window , close to grand central station and walking distance to the Empire State Building, Times Square and Central Park.

A great stay but its pay per device for the net

Posted Feb 18, 2015
This hotel is beautiful and well looked after with everything you would need including cafe and restaurant. There's also a deli down the street which does nice breakfasts and lunches if you are looking for something simpler. The location is central although it is a bit of a walk to Grand Central which is the nearest subway station. In the summertime I can imagine this would be a nice walk although in -9 degree weather I was tempted to get in a cab. The view is fantastic over either the East River or the city - this was the reason I chose One UN and I pleased with my decision for that element alone. The rooms are clean, well designed and spacious with everything functioning as expected and nice big TVs. I have two criticisms of the hotel. Firstly they charge per device for the internet. So if I wanted to watch Netflix on my computer while chatting on Facebook using my phone (which I did), I had to pay twice. The second issue was with access to staff via the phone. I had reason to call reception on two occasions and both times after ten minutes I had to go down to see them.

Nice hotel close to UN and convenient for midtown

Posted Feb 7, 2015
Pros: Location, price, quality
Cons: Air handling in room
Location: Right by the UN and near Grand Central
I have stayed at this hotel before and I like the quality of the rooms and the location. The rooms are well appointed and with good views of the East River. Staff are helpful and the clientele are very cosmopolitan (probably reflecting its location by the UN). My only criticism was that the room was very hot and the thermostat was hard to change. I am not sure it even worked. Clearly, there was once a fridge/bar in the room but this had been removed so bring water with you.

スタッフ教育が最悪

Posted Jan 30, 2015

too drab and dated now

Posted Jan 19, 2015
Pros: No getting away from the compettive price. Bed was comfortable, and the TV worked, as did the view of the river.
Cons: Bathroom, gym, decor, tea/coffee facilies in room, inclusive wi-fi, swimming pool, room temperature
Location: Well, it's mid-town NYC, very handy for Grand Central. Plenty of bars. Oh and the UN Building is next door.
This was a 4 night business trip in Jan 2015. I'm not too fussy but having stayed at a number of NYC hotels within the last year, this is really beginning to slip vs. peers even at this price point. Room was "adequate" (at best) for non-fussy business travellers who like to be chilled (literally). I'd have been a lot more bothered if I was on holiday with family. Plastic shower standing in a bath tub; very drab fixtures and fittings. Water was hot though. Gym was large and I had it to myself - but a lot of the aging equipment was faulty, clunky and in need of attention. The pool is (still) being repaired but this is impossible to know until you get there. Wi-fi really should be inclusive these days (but it's not here), and no tea/coffee/water provided in the room. Price will only get you so far - I have now stayed here twice over about a 6month period and that's the final time I am sorry to say.
