Good location. Snall but well-appointed room.

Posted Jan 5, 2015
Pros: Location, cleanliness, well-arranged room and nice bathroom.
Cons: A male Concierge was neither helpful nor particularly pleasant.
Very happy with this choice of hotel in NYC. Great location. Nicely arranged room and staff was friendly. I've stayed at many hotels in NYC but would not go back to most of them. Without doubt, I would return to the Omni Berkshire. Barry at the front desk and Lenny at the Bell/Valet desk were particularly friendly, and helpful. No so, a male Concierge who suggested a beer joint and a chain restaurant when we asked for a nice restaurant in Rockefeller Center. We told him were looking for something special but he judged us wrong and was most unhelpful. We found our way to Limani -- a lovely spot at 45 Rockefeller Plaza and we had a spectacular meal. It is puzzling to us why he judged us as cheap or lacking sophistication. His assessment of us was way off -- not a good trait for a Concierge.

Historic hotel in great location.

Posted Jan 4, 2015
Pros: The holiday decorations in the lobby were beautiful and the location is great.
Cons: Bathroom linens looked old and the mini bar utensils could have been cleaned better.
Location: Easy walking to 5th Avenue stores, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Central Park and Rockefeller Center.
We try to stay in hotels that are registered as historic and we were very pleased with our Omni stay.

Way over priced

Posted Jan 4, 2015
Pros: location
Cons: It's a below average hotel. if it was half the price it would be ok
Bed was uncomfortable. There was no storage. Our shower was out for one day. The cleaning staff left us no towels one day.

everything was excellent with suite...the only drawback being just a plain looking accommodations for the amount of money spent, but that is the same for majority of hotels in NYC

New Years Eve

Hotel was fine. I thought the breakfast was not worth the price. Rolls were stale. The automatic 18% tip is applied only because the overall experience was poor. Definitely not earned.

Staff was EXCELLENT!

Posted Dec 31, 2014
Pros: Staff, location, and price.
Location: Visit Top of the Rock (Rockefeller Center), Central Park, Times Square (short cab ride, or a longer walk.)
I looked, and looked, and looked at hotels all over the city before making a decision. We ended up being VERY pleased with our choice. We got a king room (I think deluxe - the slightly larger one) so we had a rollaway bed for my 17 year old son. It was very comfortable for him and my husband and I were happier having a king bed. The location of the hotel is excellent. It is close to Rockefeller, Central Park, and there are several little places nearby (one directly across the street) that have breakfast foods, coffee, soups, pizza, etc. for a reasonable price. We walked or used taxis, so we didn't use the subway system much except for when we went to the 9/11 Memorial. There was a station on 53rd that went straight down there without any changes. The staff was SO friendly. It was honestly the friendliest staff I have ever encountered at a hotel.
